w220 S65 rims color
i recently bought a set of original S65 rims but unfortionatly it came already repainted with shinny metalic grey but when i checked the pictures of the original s65 rimes it looks like its satten grey color with blownish tent. unfortunatly i never saw those rims in real life with the original paint so my referance is only the online pictures .. i was wondering if someone have the paint color code or even can descripe it in words or even confirm if my description is correct or no
thanks

The S65 wheels are a color usually called anthracite, a metal-flake dark gray. I’ve seen the Mercedes color called “titanium”, that’s what the wheel shop called it when they were matching another set of my wheels.
How dark or light they look depends on the viewing angle.
The same 19” 2-piece wheels can also be found in a standard silver as an option on the S55, so maybe that’s what you saw.

The color is Titanium Grey (for the 65's) and Sterling Silver (for the 55s)... See here... https://mbworld.org/forums/s55-amg-s...-2006-s55.html
Of course you see the problem. By now, they've all been redone by someone who didn't bother to get the color right. FWIW, I think the Sterling Silver look better anyway, for most cars. But people want to illustrate their car as the V12, so this problem naturally emerges.

I'm thinking that's the touchup paint manufacturer's code so they know it matches Mercedes 494. Mercedes is probably OEM number 8 they support or something silly like that.
