MB OEM Trickle Charger

Hope this helps.
Bill

The charging socket is located in the trunk on the driver's side near the trunk lid opening.
Hope this helps.

The "connecting" cable is NOT included. It's part # is A 217 583 00 00.
Good hunting.
Hope this helps.

Also - I've had one of these (CTEK (56-158) MULTI US 3300 12 Volt Fully Automatic 4 Step Battery Charger) on my ZO6 Vette for 9 years or so, using the extension cable that mounts above the rear license plate, up where the plate lights and trunk release are for a quick plug in solution - and it works flawlessly. I'm trying to understand what the difference is between this unit and the MB one, besides a more than THREE TIMES the cost difference? Is there something with the voltage, or??
I can't imagine a cable would equate to that much of a price difference... Thoughts? Thanks in advance for any knowledge to share!

It's clear that the MB version of the CTEK charger deliberately has a different connector (to the MB final cable into the socket) than a standard CTEK charger.
I believe that it is simply for revenue purposes. To be fair, the cable and charger are included with the sale of the (new) car. They also did this on my '16 AMG GTS.
Hope this helps.
I have CTEK 4.3 amp and (McLaren-branded) 7 amp lithium battery chargers on hand, with the clip attachment for the engine compartment posts. At least the negative post is out in the open now, on my 2015 it was hidden under a plastic cover.
Tried to plug by CTEK Lithium US into the S63 socket with the cigarette plug adapter I use on the 720S (which looks same as in the photo below). As expected it doesn't charge unless the car is running - the trunk 12v socket is switched to the ignition. Doubt the M-B cable is any different - other than costing 10x as much as the CTEK - but if it somehow enables charging via that trunk socket would be nice as it's a pain to pop the hood and attach the alligator clips on the jump start terminals.

Not aware of anyone getting a charger with their S63. The part# A 000 982 29 21 referenced above is for a 5A lead-acid charger, almost certainly manufactured for M-B by CTEK, and is not suitable for the LiFePo4 battery in the S63 (at least in the coupe). CTEK Lithium US is the correct model for these batteries and runs $95 on Amazon, and includes the alligator clips needed to connect with the exposed terminals in the engine compartment. It does not include the 12v plug adapter, but that can be purchased separately for $10... though as I mentioned the trunk 12v plug is switched to the ignition so not usable for charging.
My 720S charges via that 12v plug which is in the frunk right in front of the LiFePO4 battery. Car came with a McLaren-branded 7A Lithium charger clearly manufactured by CTEK.

HEISENBERG -
At the dealership today I was told by a salesman - the service manager
and the parts manager that the chargers no longer come standard
with the S classes -
However they are available for order / purchase from parts -
Just another issue that shows how Mercedes is re-defining
THE BEST or NOTHING to suit their bottom line -
Thank-You

It just has these plugs but not the one on the left and the cigarette plug on the right does not work.
Anyone please figured out the type of cable that fits the socket and can be purchased? All help highly appreciated.
