Cabin and Engine Air Filter replacements

Hi, I was just wondering if anyone has any guidance as to how to go about replacing these yourself? I have a 2015 S63 Coupe. I’ve bought K&N filters for the engine and 222-830-03-18 for the cabin which apparently is the right one. Thanks!

Return the K&N filters for starters -

Contact Shardul here -

Preferred Contact method PM or email shardul@ultimatepd.com

Order his air filters which provide greater air flow -

If you read thru the threads in this sub-forum you

will see that Shardul's air filters are the ones being used -

With the proper tools it takes about 10 minutes a side -

Will give your Coupe better air flow and change the sound

of your exhaust under load -

This sub-forum is your best source for knowledge and correct

information for your S63 Coupe -

Thank-You
D.B.

Thanks DB! I live in NZ so I was just going with what I could source locally while we are in our Level 4 lockdown! I appreciate there is mixed views on K&N but I still thought it would be better than the paper ones which are really one time use.

I’ll reach out to Shardul to see whether his can be sent down here.

Are there any links to previous guidance or instructions on how to replace the filters? Both the Cabin and Engine? According to Mercedes my S63 came without the air quality package hence that cabin filter part i mentioned might be different to other peoples. Mine is a UK import...

Thanks in advance!

K&N filters are outstanding.
Put them on my AMG GTS, you feel the difference
A friend of mine put them on a G Class 500. fantastic results
I've ordered them for my S63 but will put them during A Service for a warranty question.
If your engine has an issue it will happen before your 15000 miles. If nothing happend that K&N will be put on

I just did the PD kit, it was pretty straight forward. You just need to remove both the inlet and outlet air hoses from the air boxs and then flip them over to undo the screws( I didn't disconnect the sensors).

Thanks for letting me know. I don’t think I can return them so good to know they are ok to use! Thanks.

Great. I will give it a go. Do you have to use any particular tools to get the engine covers off and to open the airboxes?

Flat head screw driver to loosen the hose clamps, and then a torx bit for the airboxes. I think it was a T-8, As far as the covers i just pulled on them gently and they popped out. The airbox's just pull straight up and they will detach

Sorry, to clarify I bought the genuine MB part 222-830-03-18 for the Cabin filter as MB said it was due for replacement. I’m guessing this is not something people have replaced themselves?
