Excellent information, and beautiful car. Crazy that the dealer wanted $2k for the factory grille. Interesting that they have different clips for the grilles; probably on purpose....

I went to a local shop and they quoted 8-9hrs of labor!
I asked my MB dealer and they will do the installation and provide my a loaner.
I rather use them as they have the experience and my trust. They replaced my dash, which is an intense job, in one overnight stay.

Porsche guy who drives SL63 w/ perf pkg AND perf suspension
You said they quoted 8-9 hours,
the lnc guy had to take the bumper off. bit there must be a way to pull it out from the front. because heres what the add saysfor Mercedes-Benz C217 W217 AMG S63 coupe Class 2015-2017 Chrome GT style Grille

I ended up going to my MB dealer as I said in my post. When the first shop quoted 8/9hrs I thought it was way out of line.

the bumper has to come off. There is no getting around it.

On the SL the bumper has to come off because it overlaps the grill, and its pulled out from behind. But Ive seen som cars like C that they pull out of the clips from the front.
