2017 S 63 Coupe
Hello I知 new and need some advice

Extended warranty advice - 2017 AMG S 63 Coupe

Hi All,

I just purchased a 2017 S 63 S.

I know I want and need an extended warranty. So far I have number and quotes from Route 66 and Select Auto Protect.

The Mercedes dealership gave a very strong and compelling pitch as to why to avoid those companies and go with what they can provide.

The argument was that I will get screwed over loopholes with a stated policy vs an exclusionary policy.

The warranty provider he is offering is Alpha. For 48 month and unlimited milage it is $8975 or 4 years or 24,000 miles for $5968. The latter was suggested as an option due to the fact the wife and I both WFH. I drive into the office occasionally, so put on very little milage(\~5K?) a year.

The dealer was also pushing for wheel and tire policy and also windshield. I don't remember the numbers on those policies and while they may be wise I am not made of money. I think the wheel and tire policy was about 3.2-4K.

I do fully understand I need a warranty and just want to get the best coverage for the least cost.

Do you guys think I should go with what the dealer is offering or are there other exclusionary policy providers that will cover an AMG I should look into? Also, what are the best community web sites I should join?

Appreciate any guidance!! I look forward to getting to know this beast!

You should reach out to Trenton at @Highline-Autos.com for a quote. I found his coverage was more comprehensive and the prices were about the same or lower. 2017 S550 sedan and 2018 S63 Sedan.

its alot of money. i chose not to get one. My car is really good and I am capable of keeping up with it myself. i was told by a couple shops that if I save my 5, 6, 7, 8 thousand $ i should be able to fix most any problem it has. And they dont have many problems.
And for sure, I would never get the miscellaneous any of the nik nak policies.

Route 66 and Select Auto Protect are garbage.

The only aftermarket warranty worth purchasing is Fidelity with Platinum coverage. Fidelity actually covers repairs where virtually all others have what looks to be a long list of covered parts that are all the things that don’t fail.

Your 222 Based car is exceptional to live with long term.

$8,000 May be better invested than in a warranty. ESP if you are able to do most of the work.

Your car. Your choice.

Hey @Thump604 I replied to your other thread but still have not received a response with your mileage. My contact information is below if you'd like to reach out to me directly with the mileage, I'll be able to provide you Fidelity extended warranty coverage information, whose repairs accepted at all Mercedes-Benz dealerships and licensed independents in the US/Canada.

I don't see much value in rim and tire insurance especially if you have the stock rims.

A policy that covers windshields is a blessing.

Fidelity's Superior Plus Wheel and Tire coverage includes a $2,500 glass allowance, paint-less dent repair, and interior leather repair, all beyond the traditional wheel and tire coverage. My information is below if anyone has any questions or would. like to see coverage lengths and pricing.

I have a very different experience. We went through 6 tires ($420/tire mind you) and 2 OEM wheels (approx $2K each) due to them cracking (any wheel 19" and larger is prone to cracking esp with the thin sidewalls with the tires they run) in a span of 3 years. And at a $0 deductible, and mounting/balancing included. Paid for itself several times.

My other AMG, I've been through 3 tires (at least) also approx $420/tire. I think the policy is a no-brainer.

If I'm not mistaken, the $2,500 glass allowance on that policy is for up to $2,500 of windshield REPAIRS only. They do not cover windshield replacement.

FYI, the going rate for replacing an OEM windshield + programming for the sensors opposite the rearview mirror is about $2400.

You are spending a lot more than that for a 222 Windshield!

Fidelity痴 road hazard tire is a godsend for those with bad luck with tires.

Client of mine managed to pick up nails in her tires. Every six months on the average. Most not repairable. Never a problem getting them covered.

Knock on wood.... I virtually never pick up nails hit potholes Ect. But windshields. Grrrr.

My experience of $2400/windshield was my experience from a C63S, GLE63S, and a GLS63. Figured S63 pricing would be similar.
