Audi is severely underestimating S8 Plus real power, based on acceleration and it's weight it must be closer to 700hp then 605 (stated).

Not only at 250, will do it at 300km/h too ( when optioned with Dynamic Package that moves the limiter to 190 mph and adds CCBs)

Impressive makes me wish I could afford either car and still have money to eat.

2015 AMG S63
I'm comparing these two right now. The plus and a '15 S63. The S8 is definately the better "drivers" car. Good exhaust sound, faster than hell, but the last or second to last year of the production cycle. It shows in nome areas.

The S63 is way more comfortable, sporty, better presence, but maybe a little too big.

Comes down what I want out of this driving experience.

Problems, problems.....

Ever decide between the two? I'm looking at both as well. New a8 out next year worries me. Regards. Ned.

Yep. 2015 S63. No regrets, love it. I will be keeping an eye out for the D5 S8 though....

S63 has presence on the road. It's aggressive, wide front end takes up the whole lane. Love seeing these beasts cruising around downtown.

Do you guys actually believe thats a stock for stock comparison? That looks like a tuned S8 vs stock S63 to me TBH. With both tuned, i think S63 will win 20 to 100 or 200 but not 0-100km/h.

I went with a new 2016 s8 plus when all was said and done, got a good deal on the 2016 in January. Love the car, fast as hell, comfortable, gorgeous interior. Test drove an s550, was disappointed in the ride even in sport+ mode, still very boaty. Never tested the s63, pricey and a tad bigger than I wanted, even the s8 on shorter wheelbase is bigger than I needed. Decided I'll eat the depreciation bullet, life is potentially too short to worry about the imminent new model. At the end of the day, the s8 gives you super car type performance at a not thoroughly rediculous price(things being relative). Like you, no regrets. Regards. Ned.

Awesome ride Ned - and I think that the S8 especially plus has the leg up on the S63 acceleration wise.

When I became aware that the new e was coming with a four base engine, I considered a cpo'd 2014-2015 e550 which checks off most boxes for me, but already owning a 2011 e550 wanted something more different. Your e550 must be great, a car to keep for a very long time, still have my e550 and it's been great, love it. I really like the design of the 2011, more so than the refresh, not wild about the look of new e, kind of generic and boring, not terrible just ok. Regards. Ned.

in that cause just get a 2011 e63 amg with that glorious 6.2L v8. Personally I think the best looking e class is the w212 refresh, 14+ and agree that the new E looks boring, and soft, not as nice as the outgoing model.

Stock S8 Plus, this comparo was done immediately after release of Audi, car was not even broken in yet, too early to develop any tune for it yet.

Ned - thank you for the kind words - I love my 2014 E550. To me it is the best car i have had thus far at a price point I can handle. If money was no object an S63/S8 plus would be it!!!

I personally love the Audi S8 Plus, but the acceleration times in that video are highly optimistic for a Stock one. 0-250km/h in under 15s would be faster than a new 911 Turbo S. The S8 Plus would be trapping 130+mph from the factory. I think this test is more indicative of the performance (although I am sure it could do a little better at the track):

exactly what I was getting at earlier. If you read the comments below for that video there's a guy there who posted a link showing that same audi with an MTM 760hp tune on it, and that's exactly what it looks like
