Sound after CarPlay

Sound after CarPlay
New 24-AMG/S63. With the sound playing from Sirius I used Apple Maps from CarPlay, the sound came through for directions but lost the sound from the radio couldn’t get sound for radio back until after leaving CarPlay. Anyone else have this issue?

I've had it happen that the audio switched to CarPlay upon connecting. There are numerous reports from others where this sometimes happens. It's a bug in CarPlay that seems to come back at various times. It didn't happen to me before until I got a new iPhone 16 Pro running iOS 18. But all I had to do was press the Radio button to bring the radio back and then return to CarPlay. I don't know if it has something to do with having listened to music on my phone beforehand.

I think I last observed this with 18.1. I just upgraded to 18.2.1 which fixed some other bugs, but haven't used CarPlay since then. Are you running 18.2.1?

Just went out to grab some dinner and used CarPlay. It's still doing it for me on 18.2.1 as well. But as before, all I had to do is hit the Radio button and then switch back to CarPlay, then the radio kept playing while I was using Google Maps for navigation. So looks like it's a bug introduced with iOS 18. Here's to hoping that they will fix it in an upcoming release.

Was wondering if anyone is still having this issue with using Apple CarPlay? I'm using iPhone 16 Pro and IOS 18.4.1 and still lose the sound from the radio (e.g. Sirius) if I use anything with sound (i.e. phone call, maps, etc.) from CarPlay.
Also, can't seem to find an easy way to get it back short of turning the car off and back on and getting out of CarPlay.
