Here is our new blue AMG GT 4-door. We have also coated it with Xpel, and are now to run it in with a trip to Switzerland and Northern Italy.
So far we are really happy, but we have two problems...
Problem one is working through the 527 page manual and figuring out how everything works
Problem two is that parking slots in Europe are just tooooo small, and ramps between floors are a pain.
Here is our new AMG GT 4-door all ready and waiting for its first trip through Switzerland and Northern Italy.
A lot of the ramps in countries such as Spain have quite narrow turns to use them, and they have curbs that easily catch on the front spoiler. The parking slots are quite small, I suppose everything is designed for your average European 4-door.

oh I know what you mean, I had trouble in Spanish public parking with a small rental car as well...
how are you finding the ride in general on European roads? Especially on the more bumpy ones? I am considering getting an AMG GT43 as well but am a bit worried about the harshness of the ride for a daily driver
I’ve got about 1300 km on the clock so far. Driven through France, Switzerland and I am in the Italian mountains at the moment. I would judge the ride very good. Last car was a smaller CLA AMG 43 shooting brake. The new car has a better ride quality, and feels a lot better on the road. I’ve read that the choice of tires can change road noise. Bumps are bumps, but I’ve not felt any twists, etc. on the steering. The overall level of comfort and drive quality is excellent. And so far I’ve not seen another one anywhere except a dark gray GT63 near where we live.
Yes, hundreds of things in the 527 page manual. Half I’ve not discovered yet. And a few things I’m not sure about, e.g. I like the lumbar support when in curves and the ventilation, but the massage thing does nothing for me. The upgraded stereo is great but I don’t know if it’s worth the extra.

I'll never forget my first Benz.....I found an online version of the manual and studied it for 3 months prior to my cars arrival......needless to say when it arrived I was showing the salesman how to use things. I was really annoyed when the S I had in '14 didn't come with a hard copy manual, which I found to be very strange. The dealer actually printed me out a copy from their copier until the one they ordered me arrived LOL!

There should be a button left of the steering wheel along the lane assist button if you have the airmatic. I know my gt53 didn't have it but my gt63s does.
I’m using the US manual because mine came with a German manual. One big pain is that the Ventilators are not that good a controlling the flux of air into the driver area. My first big ride and I picked up a cold. Now I drive with all four central ventilators closed. Also one of the back bumper radar sensors has gone mad and needs replacing.

By the way blue is definitely a nice blue. I got mine wrapped in the xpel stealth and don't notice a difference under the sun as far as colors go. With the xpel stealth
Car of the month? Against all the super custom jobs!
The blue is really fantastic, the best choice. And the Xpel is invisible except up really close. The chrome wheels and the black wheels both fit really well with the colour. I love approaching it from the front, you get the feeling that it’s waiting for you.
I’m still running it in, and still have a few days to finish our 4 week drive around Switzerland and North Italy.
Then I will sit down a write a short review.
But just filled it up in Italy and it set me back more than 120€. Going to have to get used to paying more for petrol.

Do you have the option in Europe to have the AMG night package?
Yes, on the 5 cars in the Mercedes garage only two had the night package. Not sure if it’s so popular. I bought the blue one, then there was a red, a white, and two dark gray versions. I know one gray was sold as well. The gray ones look to much like company cars (except maybe the matte one that was sold that had the night package). The white looked nice (with the night package), but a bit boring, the red (no way), and the blue was in the showroom all lit up and looking fantastic.

I think the night package makes it all look so much better! I'm glad it's on the GT63S, makes mine just a bit meaner than yours. Also added the powered license plate holder so I can show off the mean front in it's full glory. New York you need to have license plates in the front and back apparently required by law.
