Car at Dealership - Badging Question

I just saw some pics of my GT63 at dealership before shipping and looks like there is no space for S. Not a deal breaker but wanted to put the S badge on it after running tune on it. Very strange how they put badge on my car. No Space left. I am almost ready to Debadge it completely. The car is looking stunning and more pictures to come once I get the delivery.

Here is the list of things to do as I get the car.

1. Take lots of pictures and share
2. Take for entire PPF
3. Tune (Which one? Euro)
4. Lowering Module for 2021
5. Debadge

So you want to add an "S" to a non S car because you tuned it?

yeah.. S and non S have not much difference if you configure them right except the tune. There is a thread on it somewhere here..

Different strokes for different folks. I wouldn't add badging but rather I de-badge all of my cars - gives them a cleaner appearance and makes them easier to polish.

Yes. Why make a car out to be something it isn't. Strong enough as it is. De badge for sure.

Thanks for confirming. I am almost on the path to De badge it. I have c63s and wanted this to be an S. However as I added options (Alot of them including Hi end sound system and lots of carbon fibre) my build went north of 200k. So went 63 route with promise of tuning and saved 15k. Don't like that it is not S. But well just removing the badge would make me feel better at this point. Yes different strokes for different people. The car is still with dealer. He keeps teasing me.

Paint Imperfections

Dealer called to say there were some minor paint imperfections and said that is very common on Matte colors. Not sure about this but he is offering a free Wrap around with stealth to cover it up. He send me pictures and I couldn't find it but may be at this price point and because of my relationship with him (buying 10 cars or more) he is doing it. Said it is not a big deal and this is more a gesture as I had to wait so long and I was planning to wrap it any way. I tried searching on the forum and couldn't find one.

$200k car and they want to wrap it due to paint imperfections to "cover it up"? I'd walk away

This would be my first Matte color car. I have heard that color does reflect different in different light conditions and also if there are some shiny spots the wrap makes it invisible. For me the wrapped car needs to look 100% as I was going to wrap it any way. I would hold judgement till I see in person.

Ugh! I'd have to wait and go see them personally and then decide if I'd accept the delivery......that a lot of money to have a car with even one scratch......and for them to tell you it's 'common'? Maybe on a used car but we're talking brand new out of the box right?? They're offering a free wrap for the entire car? If that's the case I'd get something in writing. I respect you've gotten 10 cars there and so do you, but I'm not sure the dealer does. Good luck, interested to see how you proceed.

I am going to go for it. Trusting the dealer to fix it for me. I have tracked it over last 3 months from getting VIN created to Ocean to Baltimore VPC. COVID, Snow storms and holidays didn't make it any better. From 6 Miles on ODO to now 25. Paid first installment already. This is my Car that is sitting with Dealer. I would take full responsibility of whatever color MB painted for me. Yes the Dealer is known asset to me and so is the recommendation that I have with him. I see it is getting wrapped at a very nice shop which does high end cars. Keeping fingers crossed on being wowed when it arrives to me next weekend. You all would know as I would post pictures. Good Bad or ugly. Pictures would be there for my car. Wish me luck.

Man don’t take an imperfect car. Just tell them that you don’t want it and just wait until the 2022 order books open up. I’m not saying that you’re wasting money but a wrap doesn’t make up for a bad paint job. A $20,000 discount would though. 🧐

those bananas are show steeler. I got red calipers on c63s. This is perfectly different and stands out. Love it. It is very soft ride compared to my 17c63s. Lots of luxury too. I selected acoustics package and it rides like an e class in comfort and like a monster in sport +. 2021 is a nice upgrade from 2020 that I test drove.

Spoke too Soon. The car is bliss however I do hear a small rattle either coming from High end 3d speaker by sun roof or something else. Not a biggy and coming from C63s was aware of small rattles in these AMG cars. However this is the only Rattle I am hearing. Anybody with High End system hearing small rattle over rough surface from that speaker?
