i guess if you never receive error msg or headlight flickering, then you are fine don't worry have to worry about that

Nah, I was actually asking cuz I remember it being posted, so I definitely appreciate it also (so others won't have to ask how anymore) and it was a while back and couldn't find the link. I've just added this to the AFTERMARKET/DIY sticky so others who need it can find it easily now.

Help with Carlab HID kit installation...

i have a 06 C230.

is there any drilling into the stock halogen headlamp to install the Carlab HID kit?

do u just remove old bulb, install new HID bulb and wire up the kit?

also theres a red/black wired connector with a fuse on it but it seems that i wont need to use it cause i can plug the stock headlamp connector to the HID kit.

anyone got some pics.

thanks

I drilled the black cover that goes behind the lamp assembly, so the wires can go through.

You need to drill a hole on the back of the cover for the wires to go through. Other than that everything else is plug and play.

Just wanted to give an update, Talked to the guys at what used to be carlabs, called something else now. They said to send the HID kit to them and they will replace it as soon as they get it. They really do have the best customer service I have ever come across!!

This is great thank you! My new HID's are throwing up codes and flickering at times.

I am going to a service A in a week I'll see if they give me an issue on this.

Just to be on the safe side. Avoid driving at night. Strictly speaking the malfunction of headlights can be seen as a defect.

hid installation "xenon=present"

Guys, I have a friend who wants to have an HID kit installed in Washington, DC area. Some MB dealers like American Service Center won't do it because the headlights are not original MB.

I've searched the forum where he can get it done, but to no avail.
I have a MTEC kit myself and I didn't have to have the light to set xenon=present.

Do you know which dealer or place he can go to for that purpose?

thanks so much.
