I don't even know if mine was slipping, it was weird. Hope no problems with it now. Blower has been working great for 30,000km.

That's awesome.

Anywho, again, I think Weistec still has some work to do here but it seems like things are at least heading back in the right direction.

The car makes close to 800 whp with the blower and the rest with nitrous. I would love to put more but is not that easy. As we mention before the tranny as the pistons and rods are compromise at more than 1000. For the pistons and rods I can send one to any reputable company to make a set that hold lot more. But for the transmission I want to keep the 722.9 and right now the only one at this power is Weistec.

I remember Steve saying Jrcarts had the most $$ into the tranny to hold it together and do those record runs. Making power is sometimes the easy part.

You are absolutely right, the tranny is the holding factor right now. But to be fair few people want more than 1000 whp on these cars. And for a transmission that usually start slipping after 600 is a great achievement.
I'm not running 1/4 mile events for now because the track requires me a roll cage and parachute, but more than anything because I know it's a matter of time the tranny start slipping. The half mile events are fun and less hard to the car.

Good news, trans is on the truck DHL. Weistec helped me with shipping to make up for the delay which was great of them and shows their dedication to their customers IMO.

Looking forward to throw it on and dropping the hammer.

I too have sent my transmission to them months ago. They claimed it would take 4 weeks. I don't think they were honest with me or with many of the people on this forum. Anyway add me to the list of people who are waiting and fed up.

I orders my v2 trans kit a few weeks ago and received them within a few days and we put it together last week. The thing shifts crazy fast and I'm very pleased with it. I do suggest talking to Zack he has been very stand up and forthcoming with anything involving my build

If you put it in 5th gear manual mode and full throttle in 5th, does the clutch hold or slip?

Would you mind telling me what was involved in getting the complete build kit installed and do they include all components from their v2 trans build?

All hard parts and gaskets are included it's very comprehensive all you will need is mb trans fluid. I had a friend do it who is a shop Forman for Mercedes the rebuild took him 2 hours with him taking extra time to show me the entire process on how to do it my self. I would say total tome with R&I was ten hours.

No they recommend not doing the TCU and valve body as they are finding that it is redundant. I will say I believe it too it shifts way fast and hard border line too fast when stuck in traffic from first through third gears. And I do think they stopped selling the TCU and valve body tune it's not on their sight anymore.

Anyone know what is involved in making a torque converter 722.9 "bulletproof" for a turbo upgrade? Weistec sells an upgraded torque converter: http://weistec.com/722-9-torque-converter.html

I'm planning to ship my ML63 to Powerhaus to have them install their turbo upgrade, and while the car is there, I'm trying to determine how important it is to do anything to the transmission.

All the stuff that gets upgraded on an MCT in the bulletproof package seems to be friction material that wouldn't apply to a TC car, right?

What about just doing a torque converter and pan?
