I know I was going to go out for a 2 year anniversary dinner the other night but forgot. Pretty funny. I promised I wouldn't sell it like everyone else does.

I hope he's not paying them by the hour. This build should have taken any competent shop a couple months to complete at most.

I've been trying trust me. There's just been so many issues over the long run and it just drags every out. A lot of the stuff we did on it isn't just outta the box either. So when u start doing those things it just complicates so many aspects. The engine sat at Weistec for 5 months waiting to get rebuilt. Only good thing with that was bulletproof 2.0 trans upgrades came out, so I got that. Otherwise Zero done during that time.

These are things we r trying to make sure are right. U can't rush thru these things, because u pay for it later in many ways.

The shop noticed that the exhaust system never arrived and was lost in transit. So Weistec has the systems on backorder when we needed it. The CF driveshaft had faults and Weistec was needing to get the new batch corrected before they sent it out. Everything from overseas took literally forever to come in. Lots of those holdups kept the build from progressing.

I know in the end it'll truly be worth the wait. Once I get behind the wheel the time will be forgotten. I knew this whole deal would be a process. Luckily I'm patient. FMU has been great through all this. They have a very busy shop and they need to fulfill their customers as they come in. So I knew that was a part of it too that they could only focus so much manpower on it at any given time. I always knew it was in good hands and that's a huge part of ithe on a unique project like this one.

MB in Germany sent the wrong diff cover 3 times. So after all that waiting FMU decided to make their own out of billet. And I'm so glad that happened. So much nicer.

Trying to see if the Renntech widebody does the car justice. The fenders do need to have some cutting and painting for install. If Im not satified, other option is BS conversion. Never wanted to make my car a BS as it is not but thats the best alternative. Other than the cost, issues are mainly fitment with the top and front of the rear fender flares with the rear doors. Id want to go strictly OEM but may need a partial kit for the rear fenders.

Your build is amazing. IMO the only way to do this car justice would be to do a BS body conversion. It looks so amazing, especially in Barolo Red. Photos of Dads C63

I agree, from the beginning of ur build I was never a fan of the RennTech choice.. Go BS = game over lol

Man that's like 8-0 for BS including me and the shop. Where's all the Renntech fanboys? Oh I guess there aren't too many.
I'm looking at getting OEM front and rear bumpers, front quarters and rockers. I'd prob need part of a kit for the rear fender flares, maybe Prior Design. Need to check. Just want quality. Don't want to to cut up the rear doors and quarters like Dads did and repaint the whole car. This way really just painting the new pieces and getting the BS rear exhaust section.

I think doing the conversion would put my overall build up there with the best. I know it's not a GAD M157 turbo swap or anything. It's been fun hearing everyone's input and excitement in the build I just never wanted it to drag on so long. Sorry for that just was never the plan. I wanted things done as quick as possible but some things go just become what they become.
