I don’t like how they put the four shortcuts on the front screen. It’s not obvious whether things are on or off at a glance.
They need to allow us to customize the four shortcuts and make it ckeaer as to whether it’s ON or OFF, maybe with a slider for each that clearly shows on or off by the position.

Seems pretty clear. Says in plain English below the shortcut whether it's on/off/locked/unlocked and the icon changes. Above the shortcuts you get a warning banner if anything is out of the ordinary. For example my car is currently unlocked in my garage and that's very obvious in the app.

It's going the other way. If it's Off it will be On if you press it. It's binary. 1 to 0, then 0 to 1. Not sure what the confusion is.

No, you’re missing the point. If you accidentally press one of those dumb buttons, the dumb status below the icon disappears and it just circles thinking about what is about to happen next while it goes through two minutes of internet connectivity, I.e., you have no idea what the F is happening and it’s dumb like every Mercedes engineer alive.

What paradigm is it where the first screen that comes up shows four icons that if you accidentally touched them, they’re doing its business without telling you which way it’s going. God be damned you didn’t glanced at the words beneath those dumb, generic icons.

No, I wouldn’t say that. If you open the app, and unless you’re paying laser-like attention, it’s easy to hit one of those dumb icons on accident.

I've not a single time accidentally hit any of them and I open the app regularly w/o laser-like attention. I just opened up the app, and I can't even think how one would accidently hit them, because they are the bottom of the screen. How do you even hold your phone?

If that makes you feel better. As a customer, the new app is terrible. It introduced unnecessary issues and problems that the previous version didn’t even entertain. That isn’t progress. That’s stupidity.

More on the fact that this thread had over 300 views, yet nobody seems to share your issues. Sometimes it's just you, and no company is gonna design their product for a few users that struggle with something that nobody else struggles with. Unfortunately, you gonna have to suck it up and make it work for you somehow. You can send them your feedback and if enough others send similar feedback they'll change it.

This change only happened recently. I’m an active member so I’ll speak my mind early.
Conversely, based on what you’re saying, if more than one person complains, it’s legitimate? Does that mean Mercedes really is dogcrap in quality because there’s more than one person saying that?

No, I think you should rethink these things before passively aggressively calling users idiots. My issues with this app anre independent of how you prejudiciously perceive how people should interact with it. That is naive and dumb. Just like the idiot Mercedes’ engineers. Don’t assume anything.
