What I hope to do one day is to completely rebuild my car, and hold on to it due to the sentimental value of it to me. Here's the dream :

Body:
Complete Wald Kit
Repainted entirely - deepest black out there
Added on mutliple layers of the
MB scratch resistant clear coat

Motor:
Bore it out to 7.4 Litre displacement
Convert all internals to titanium
(Maximum strength, reliability, and weight reduction)
Add on two turbochargers
Tune to a smooth rock solid and seemingly endless
Power curve.
Complete custom straight pipe exhaust with
Machined tips (quad pipe)
Custom ram air setup with cone filters
Custom black Carbon Fiber Motor trim

Suspention:
AirRide suspension setup with raise/lower manually setting
Carbon Ceramic Brakes with red calipers
I love my wheels, so they will remain

Interior:
Restitch the interior with AMG leather and the seats off the new
CLK63 AMG
Custom black Carbon Fiber interior trim
V12 Shift knob with CF in place of wood
Thick Brabus steering wheel with same CF in place of wood
Stereo upgrade:
Nothing too loud, very simple very flush setup with sharper sound
Quality

Lights:
Custom built one piece Xenon headlights (the aftermarket should really make those - just a housing to insert the current units in)
I love my tail lights so those will be on it as well

Summary: This is my dream plan with what to do with my first car. Due to it's sentimental value, I truly hope to one day have this done, just to have such a machine. No bling, no nosense here, just a car that will completly be, in my mind perfect. I can see 20 years down the road, this dream car sitting in my garage, covered up, waiting for the weekend for me to take it out and let it loose!

I'm driving it!
I've spent the last 6 months going crazy due to the fact that I cant mod anything on my car anymore without ruining my impression of it. I've never had that problem before.

But I guess if I would change something, I would go with:
-a total carbon fiber body
-an SL65 engine
-and a turbo boost button like Knight Rider

 

SL74 renntech, with a wide body and straight pipes and DTM seats with BMW SMGIII tranny.

Having a turbocharged car kind of defeats the purpose of a ram air intake

 

Good point, must have slipped my mind. Need to proofread next time! I was referencing Pigzmickey's setup, which looked great on his SL600.

 

I still think you could do it....... turbocharged and ram air intake........ look at those Honda guys....... they did it........

 

well i hate to crash your dream man but you need to go to germany and do this , becouse if you want that ride and all that power you need a road with no limit such as the autobon or w/e in germany so i hate to tell it to you but you cant speed down the freeway here in the u.s withought taking it up the *** buy a cop. I drove 85 in a 70 i got pulled over for speeding.

 

Haha. This is just me messing around after coming home early one night. As for police, radar? Still, it would be cool to build a car like this for sentimental reasons. Maybe first an R129, and then a Gullwing (body) with modern AMG components. I just love the idea of classic cars with modern performance capabilities.

 

my dream SL is a very clean low-miles 2002 Silver Arrow, pref. with panoramic hardtop, or a 2000/2001 Black Diamond w/ sport package. The 129's just seem so much more solid than the 2003+ replacement cars.

 

My dream is to get my damn fuel injection fixed and maybe the Early AMG kit.. JJ
