Wood Panels around seat switches

I notice the wood panels which are round the seat switches are coming away leaving a gap or edge visible. What is the best cure?

You need trim adhesive which is really a contact adhesive. You spray or brush (depending on which type you buy, I like the spray) some on both surfaces and let it cure for about 5-10 minutes then you stick 'em together. I don't remember the name of what we used at the car stereo shop but it worked great. I get it at local supplier (J&J Supply) that sells automotive carpet and vinyl.

Mine do the same and look rather tacky as the door closes as they bounce in/out.

Regrading adhesive, you will need something that can be detached without damaging the lether behind as if/when you need to remove the door panel these wooded covers need to be removed.

I would suggest something from the enormous range at 3M

they should have metal clips on them

you can go to your dealer and show them the metal clips and get new ones for a few cents as the old ones may have lost their spring

were they supposed to be glued in initially?? i didnt think that

on mine also some of the plastic slides that hold it to the door have snapped also, im looking to fix them soon, hopefully we can cure this problem

ill post new info if i find anything

I have done the repair, simply to change the plastic clips and cost little money and time. I 've got the parts number for both sides, and also the procedure pictures. My friends, DO NOT GLUE IT! wait for my pictures coming soon.

Blimey, I've taken those door panels off over 4 times now and completely forgot they were clipped in...

Old age has effected my memory more than I realised!!!

Cheers for the tips.

I am sorry, there is no any number on it. But, if the clips drop, they must be inside the car or limited inside the door panel. Or, it would be not difficult to make a duplicate.

Same problem here. However, My Dad thought he would help and while I was on vacation, drilled self tapping screws into both sides. Needless to say, he has not been back in my car since then. I had to purchase new ones. Well, not really new, but from a parts car.
