where can i find the possible colors for a 92 sl 500...the color the owner says is ice blue metallic...the local dealer said the paint code 5929 ibased on the vin....which is called nautical blue metallic...does this sound right. anybody have a pic of this color in 92? thanks.

I checked the MBUSA web site and my copy of The SL Experience but couldn't find the colors - sorry. But I really like the color whatever it is. You have one fine looking automobile.

i dont own it, its for sale.....it has a cloth covered hard top which is causing me to also investigate that feature,

-- sounds like a match to me......

Page 157 of The SL Experience book shows Paint Code 929 "Nautical Blue" was available on the SL between 1985 and 1993.

Page 158 of The SL Experience book shows that in 1993 it was the 12th most popular color for the SL to be ordered in that year.

Love the wheels. Hate the top. Did nautical blue come with a tan interior? Didn't 1992's have wipers on the headlights?

Does the cloth hardtop look that much different than the regular softtop? The missing headlight wipers caught my eye also, but I think it's a good thing. I never cared much for headlight wipers.

wipers are back on...regarding the top(s) colors, havent seen them at the same time yet,. waiting for pictures...

Oh, by the way . . . regardless of whether that paint is original or not . . . it is a beautiful paint job. Or at least the photo makes it look great.

And the more I look at them, the more I love those wheels.
