cars wont go over 80 ..1992 sl 500
hey everyone i have a 1992 sl 500 it was running fine and now as it gets warmed up i can only do 80 miles per hour and after that it wont go faster . has anyone experienced this please help.....thanks alex.

How is the power delivery up to 80? Is it sluggish all around and will only sputter up to 80, or does the power fade away after 80?

the car has lost power and at 80 mph it just stays there like it cant go any more ...thanks alex

I recently suffered from a severe loss of power as well. It felt as if my motor was running on only 20% of its power and lost all pull after 1500-2000 rpms. Check engine light was on as well. Diagnostics resulted in three errors: a misfire (which was resolved with new spark plugs), a couple foul 02 Sensors, and two seriously clogged catalytic converters. Some $1800 later, I had my car again with all of its tire-shredding power back. My advice would be to take it to a trusted mechanic and have him check it out. Hopefully the repairs will be less extensive than mine. I wish you luck.

thanks everyone for your help again ..i really havent rally had a chance to fix beacuse i left it on the street and someone broke into it and messed up the ignition ....bummer so now i have to fix that also ..thanks alex
