SL/R129 Will newer style 129 tailights fit a 1991?

Will newer style 129 tailights fit a 1991?

Will the newer style tailights of the facelifted R129 fit a 1991 SL? If so, do I have to replace the whole assembly or just the lenses? Any idea how much they cost?

you only have to swap the lenses...my 1990 SL went from old to the 95-99 red ones to the 99+ red/white ones...

Whats the diffference between the 95-99 and the 99 and up tailights?

Which part of the 99 and up tailights are white?

So far I have only seen the all red ones with white section for the backup lights. Are these the 95-99?

Thanks for the info.

Ive noticed that the 99 up tailights also have 3 slats instead of the 4 of the older tailights. Less cluttered look.

Yes you can swap the lenses only, it's really easy and just few screws... you can find them on ebay for pretty cheap like around 200.00 or you can order from MB dealer which are about 225.00 each. Good luck and post some pics later...
