Hello. I’m wanting to upgrade to the Spirt model bumpers and side skirts. Is this an easy conversion? Besides the bumpers and side skirts, are other parts needed? Like wheel wells and the splash panel beneath the engine? Sure would appreciate some advice. Thanks
Thanks mahunt. Previous to your reply, I did find your post as well as the post on BW. I have sourced a complete set of bumpers, side skirts, door moldings from a sport package car. The front bumper is complete with tow hook covers, fog lights, mesh screen, brackets, etc. One question I have/had relates to the front fender well splash shield and the engine splash shield. I would have expected these parts to be unique for a sport bumper vs standard. However it appears they are the same. I have looked at a bunch of pics of the underside of cars with and without sport package and the look the same. There are some great pics of cars that have sold on BAT.
In addition to the Sport bodywork, I also added the TUV rear flares and used the 1998+ rear muffler to better match the newer Sport rear bumper cover. I do have a genuine twin tip AMG muffler for the middle year cars if anyone is interested.
Lower and wider.
Looks good with the updated muffler and the subtle OEM Euro TUV wheel arch flares.
