Finally! Got my Dream Car! 1999 SL600.
I've finally able to be an owner of my dream car. My dad and me drove from Boston to Maine and bought a 1999 Black/Black SL600 with 44k Miles for $30k. Picking it up tomorrow, and boy it's going to be fun driving it around Fenway when the Sox wins.
Well, first of all, I think it's the best price for 99 SL600 with these miles. We tried ebay, and other car stuff, but nothing is better then buying from a first owner. The couple have all the services and reciept, so we couldn't back down from it.
Also, my dad was trying to trade his 85 SL380 to the couple but they wouldn't take it, so that's going to belongs to me for the summer.
Do anyone know where we can get the panorama top for cheap?

Certainly is a good deal. That means the SL600 has depreciated over $2 for each and every mile its covered. Don't see that the new SL600 will be any different... (or my SL55 , come to that).

Well hate to say this, but my dad back out of the deal today. Car is up forsale in Maine for anyone interested.
We're ending up getting a 2000 SL500 for the easy v8. Went to a cadillac dealer and saw it lying in the lot with only 10,000 Miles, 10716 to be exact. Too bad it went out of warranty from Mercedes. The good thing is, they're taking my dad 85 SL380 with 93K miles for $8500. So total price would be $33K.

whoa, backed out of a deal like that! That's almost a once in a lifetime (well at this period in time, in a few years it'll be a regular deal) deal. Well the 500 is nice, but once you drive 600, you can't stand the 5

Too bad. While they don't really hold their value, the V12 is a dream to drive and when you want to go it rips! And that nice little V12 on the side of the car is nice to look at when you are approaching the car. I loved mine and it held fairly steady at about 22 mpg. Once got 26 on the 405 here in SoCal. But enjoy the 500. It's a nice ride also.

my advise to you, get a warantee on that puppy.. one or two repairs and it will more then pay for itself.. Electrical bugs are rapant in these later MB's..

I've decided to move my SL600 on. At 86000 miles, it's becoming too unreliable and expensive to maintain. Stricks is right. Trade in for the car is just 17% of what I paid for it, this car has cost more than $1.60 per mile in depreciation alone...
