Very observant about the age thing. I am actually significantly younger than you now, because I have been driving ths SL for about 2 1/2 years now!

Man, you are going to have so much fun in that car!

Do you like the wind in your hair? Or did you put the wind screen on? It is stored in the back of the trunk, behind the partition wall?

With proper use, it cuts down the wind turbulance by 90% ... and seems to be one of the commonly miss understood devices the car has.

Enjoy!

Was driving down the highway, and I decided to mess up my passengers hair, so I dropped the roll bar. She got all freaked out. Good times.

Thanks for the reply's.
I registered the SL yesterday. Because the car was from out of state I had to drive it to the DMV and have it inspected. While in line, the guy next to me was an apparent car nut. His son was taking his driving test in the family's BMW 540 wagon. They were asking all kinds of questions about the car. Coooool I thought. And the top wasn't even down.
Today I will be driving my wife to work in downtown San Diego, then I will be off to work myself. It sure makes going to work much nicer!
Since I bought this car on Ebay two weeks ago, two other guys at work bought SL's for their wifes on Ebay.
Several people at work have very expensive MB's. One has a 05 SL500, another an 04 CL55 I think, another an 04 E55. Now they are wondering why they spent so much money when the could have been just as happy with an old SL like mine.
I am very happy with this purchase. I am wondering though, if I will need the $3000, 36 month 36 thousand mile warranty? I could get most of that back. Am I getting too cheap?

The first time you have a problem could cost you that much. Keep the warranty

Do the warranty ... don't even think about it.
