Fair price for this 2003 SL500?
Seriously looking at a 2003 SL500 with the following options. Trying to come up with a fair price to offer.
Bright red exterior
Stone interior
5500 miles
Body great condition (no dings)
Keyless go
comfort packege (pulse/air seats)
Wood package (wheel/knob)
traction control
cd changer
17" factory wheels
Dealer asking $77K

I've been told you would be better off with an '04 since it has the 7spd transimission and apparently '03's still had the new model bugs....
However, that's only what I've heard.
If you do buy seems to be plenty of '03's available. If it's a dealership, I'd go some $$$ back of low blue book as a starting point.

The bugs in my 03 have been the phone, now repaired, the top creaks occasionally, so other than that not too bad. So I don't think you should pass on an 03 at the right price. Sad these cars take such a hit in depreciation. I lost less than 10% on my 1 year old Vet, and would lose 40% on the SL if I were to get rid of it....... Private Party might be less expensive than a dealer.

'05 Porsche 911 Carrera; '04 BMW X5
I was offered 65K on my 03 SL500 (silver, AMG sport pkg, phone, seats, etc.) by 2 L.A. dealers on a trade for an '05 911. Third dealer gave me 70K for my SL, so I went with them. My car had 11K miles. The Porsche dealer kept my car on their lot after the trade and they were asking 82.5K.
