What's new for 2006

* Run-flat tires are a new option for the flagship roadster
* New 18-inch double-spoke wheels for AMG sport package
* Keyless Go, heated steering wheel, Tire Pressure Monitoring System, and corner illuminating fog lights now standard on SL600.

With a lot of the speculation out on the 2007 models, it's nice to know what's really coming out on something we can get our grubby hands on in the near future.

Information added by StephenK.

I thought tyre pressure monitoring is now required in all new cars in the US? Maybe from 2007/8?

Either way, I know all our cars have it except my X5.

That said, the ones in the Lexus' we have suck *****. It won't tell you the PSI or if it's over or under. It just tells you something's wrong. Well thanks...

If you get the sports package I would quess that the heated steering wheel is deleted automatically.

That would make sense, but that doesn't mean it will be so with MB

That makes sense to me, since the steering wheel is partially wood.

Sorry can I just ask...

Hi,

Can I just ask what does it mean by FLAGSHIP roadster? Does that mean it will only be available in the SL65? Or does it mean the SL generally? Thanks

The Sl600 carries the biggest price tag in the regular lineup so its the flagship roadster. Just as the S600 is the flagship sedan/saloon...
In other words whatever model carries the biggest nut is the one thats the "flagship" in its category

Like I said before when the "freebies" start things are gonna change...
Expect significant changes for 2007 SL class.

Flagship roadster means that the SL line is the flagship of the Mercedes roadsters.

Always Speculating on Changes

Always speculating on changes, I would really be surprised if they did make any significant changes in the near future, it would uncommon to their normal practices, but if they do and I like it, I will get one.

What I posted initially is going to happen no doubt. It's from a Mercedes salesman who knows what he's doing.

I don't doubt that

I agree with your original post, but for the past almost one year there was a lot of talk of changes to the nose, etc. with the 06 SL600, now the certainty that it is happening in 07, personally I doubt it.

On saturday, I will be able to tell everyone for sure about the 06 SL600.
