SL600 RennTech Dyno'ed @ 711rwtq!!!

Got the SL dynoed for torque reading today after getting HP dyno yesterday

Here's the graph:
SL600 RennTech Dyno'ed @ 711rwtq!!!-scan_51010254_1.jpg
This dyno (Dyno Dynamics) reads notoriously low, it only has the RWHP at 520, where the Dyno Jet had it at 539.

According to our calculations, this car is putting out 910 lb/ft of torque at the flywheel!!!!! I think we are starting to reach some limits of the car now, wheelspin and transmission (car goes into limp mode when doing burnouts at the dragstrip).

All I can say is WOW!!!!!!

I just shut it down, then restart and it's fine.

I ran Friday night (see kill stories). My trap speed is the same as it was when I ran last Jan, and the temp was 37f lower with 44% higher humidity.

Car sounds great! but what % drive train loss are you using to come up w/910 lb/ft ??? I thought it was 20% at the most, so .20 x 711 rwto= 853.2 still an awesome figure!! but to get to your 910 estimate you'd be factoring in a 28% drive train loss

According to my tuner, they have derived that the addtional loss comes from the automatic transmission, they use 20% for a manual trans RWD car.

So are they using 28% like I deduced? If so I don't know how they can justify that??Every tuner out there Brabus, Renntech, Evosport, ect..all say drive train loss on these Automatics is anywhere between 16%-20% at the most... I think they are being a tad to generous no disrespect meant just curious??

They use that factor for their Dyno specifically. They use a Dnyo Dynamics, which is an all wheel dyno. It has different conversion factors than a Dynojet or Mustang Dyno, the ones that are most widely used.

Err, no. You guys need some more math class! Renn is putting down approx 890 ft lbs at the flywheel given a 20% auto drivetrain loss. Pretty impressive.

You start with estimated flywheel Hp, THEN multiply by .8 to account for actual RWHP output. You don't start with a smaller base (RWHP) then multiply by 1.2 (the 20% is "20%" of a base that has already accounted for drivetrain loss). That is a double penalty & not accurate.

890ft lbs X .8 (20% lost to the drivetrain) = 712 ft lbs. A BOATLOAD of torque indeed. :v

See ya,
-Matt

I wonder how soon will the trany or engine give up with so much hp and so much friction? Nevertheless cool stuff.

P.s I bet it has no traction untill 60-70 mph...

That is most impressive!!!
The 910rwtq is all speculation, I wouldnt even bother.
At the end of the day, all that counts is what is put to the ground, and 711rwtq w/ 520rwhp is just insane with only ECU upgrades!!
