Goodbye ugly DRL's, hello HID-matched LEDs

Like many of you, I've been looking to get rid of those nasty daytime running lamps which are almost a yellow-ish color, sort of like old non halogen headlights.

I pulled them out to discover that they're a 2825 bulb, which is also known as a 194 bulb.

Found a guy who makes them in LED's in different colors. No matter what color light you choose, the bulb is white, which should more closely approximate the HID's look

I've ordered a set and will install them and show pics upon completion.

Here are some of the color choices.

All colors besides orange and white I'm sure are illegal in most states.

Accessing them is easy;

Go behind the headlight, look for a black cap-like black plastic piece, about 2.5 inches in diameter. Press the tab, pop it out. Look for the golden colored bulb cover and pull it out (comes out easier with a pair of needle nose). Simply yank the bulb out.

FYI: Leaving the bulb out will trigger a malfunction warning on your cluster information screen.

Stay tuned for a write up and pics.

Got my HID Driving light on and new Fogs

Just put on some new HID driving lights. and replace the fogs with Syvania Silver stars.

below are some photos.

the bulbs

This is with Stock bulbs

one of each (Stock pass. side Extreme white bulb on Driver side)

with both Extreme white bulbs on

The LEDS i got did not work correctly. They flash on and off every 5 seconds. I think because of the voltage on them. So i am returning them. I am just installing the Extreme white bulbs for the DDL's. And the Syvanias for FOGs.

did not take photos of fogs before and after these are the after photos.

Big difference though for the fog a lot brighter and nice color then stocks.

I used Silver Star's before, they burned hot and did not last very long but did provide excellent lighting compared to normal halogen

In order to use LED bulbs- you'll need these equalizers - http://autolumination.com/equalizers.htm
