Took the plunge...

Well, I took the plunge and put myself on the list for the new Porsche TT.

0-60 in 3.4 seconds just sounded like too much fun to pass up.

Ready and interested in hearing any and all comments.

Congrats!

Wish you had purchased another SL 600 because I've aleays enjoyed your insights but I know you'll still be here to offer your help anyway. A friend of mine had the TT and loved it - a different beast from the SL line but a great car in its own way. Enjoy.

Great choice, great car. Congrats, of course -

And ENJOY!

Do you have an idea what your wait-time is? And did you order out of SF or SJ?

Yes, I am planning on getting the cabrio but wavering a little between that and the coupe. I really want a convertible but think the coupe will look better.

You should be able to order a hard top with the cabrio and hopefully it will have good lines. Unfortunately the specs are not completely out yet so we will have to see.

The SL is the only car where you get both.

The over/under before he gets rid of it is 87 days.

I'll take the under for $1000.00

I haven't seen the latest threads on the porsche forums, but did anyone get to the bottom of why the tip is quicker than the manual?

Good choice. I like the rear and sides while the front does look a tad bit regular carrera-ish...which is understandable since it is a 911 (Its awesome though). I like how in 2000/2001 the 996 turbo had those special lights differentiating it from th e normal 911, which got them a year later anway. Anyway, I'd be proud to own one even if its not a benz

I did love the car. It was incredible but it had a manufactures flaw that could not be fixed.

Aston Martin was incredibly good to me so I really don't feel it would be right of me to go into detail and talk about it.

All I can say is that they recognized the problem and took complete care of me without hesitation. They are a great car company.

I'm sorry that happened to you. Good luck with the 997. I've owned a bunch or Porsches, and, while there were some designed-in flaws that probably wouldn't have occured with a higher-volume manufacturer, in general my ownership experience was good with each. And they were all a thrill to drive.

Yes, looked at the car but after the Vanquish S, it just didn't do it for me, although a very nice car.

The performance isn't even close to the new TT but neverless a nice car.

Since I never had one I thought it would be fun to get into Porsche and 0-60 in 3.4 sounded like a good time.

Congrats! Although with your interior requirements I can't imagine you will dig the porsche. I say F430 or Gallardo Spyder and call it a day! I still have not had a single issue with the SL65. My neighbor is picking up a new DB9 Volante in a few weeks and I am curious to see how that holds up. I love the look. The porsche, like the SL unfortunately is a bit sterile.

Aston Martin, Ferrari, Gallardo all spell trouble.

I am ready for a little sterility.

I actually thought the new inside of the TT was nice...am I losing my touch?
