The 5 year price is very odd and I asked them to double check it. I will probably go with a 4/48 - $100 deductible. The 3/36 is not worth it due to the price of the 4/48.
Fidelty - Platinum
$100 Deductible
3/36 - $2814
4/48 - $3158
5/60 - $4960
Fidelty - Platinum
$0 Deductible
3/36 - $3214
4/48 - $3968
5/60 - $5120
Here is my dilemma. I have the MB Extended Limited Warranty until 11/09 and 100k miles. If I purchase a new warranty today it goes from today and today's mileage. I don't fully understand what the MB ELW covers compared to the Fidelity Platinum. My understanding is that it covers less items. So I guess its a calculated gamble, if something not covered by the ELW fails that would be covered by the Platinum in the next 9 months I'll be kicking myself. I just feel like I shouldn't waste 9 months and 10k miles of the MB ELW and wait till 11/09 to get the Platinum warranty.
Buying a 4/48 would put me to 2/2013 and 74k miles (I have 26k now). Let's say I wait until 11/09 and put on 10k miles. Then a 4/48 would put me to 11/2013 and 84k miles. However, my warranty prices would not be the same as above. They would be a few hundred higher, maybe $500?
What do you guys think?

Those quotes look high. I was quoted the Fidelity Platinum 6/72k with $100 deductible for my '05 CL65 for $3411. The 5/60 is $2571.
I'm leaning towards Fidelity because they cover the ABC system hoses unlike most aftermarket warranties. See this thread for more details: https://mbworld.org/forums/cl55-amg-...-warranty.html
What company underwrites the Millenium coverage? Who is actually listed on the insurance backing the warranty. Their web site has no info on their financial rating.

Goodbeach,
Can you PM the place you got the quote at, I will give them a call. Keep in mind that the prices are based on your car, year and mileage. I think that since I have an SL (ie. more parts can fail) and its an 03 is making my price higher.
I'll post the quote I get from your place so everyone can have the info.

Just to try and put all this good info in one spot (I'm copying from another thread on this same topic), here's the price I got a few weeks ago from a MB dealer with no deductible:
5yr/75k $3450.00
5yr/100k $4957.00
6yr/75k $3899.00
6yr/100k $5934.00
7yr/75k $4428.00
7yr/100k $6992.00
fyi: this is based on an '05 SL500 with 11,000 miles.

Got my quote from your guy. Much cheaper than what I was quoted before. Wow, what a difference! Funny thing is that they all said they'd sell it to me at cost. Maybe cost is different for every dealership?

Make sure it's an "exclusionary" policy.
Exclusionary policies state that all parts and labor covered, except as specifically identified below...
This eliminates wondering about whether certain items are included or not

Warranty is a No Brainer for me.
I bought my 4/48 policy today for $2400. Comes out to $50/mo on a 6 year old car. IMO, it's dirt cheap for a car like this. But what makes it even better is the financing, transferability and refund policy.
I am totally happy to pay $50/mo for 4 years for piece of mind while owning my SL500.
Even paying $2400 up front would not be too bad, but the fact that there is an 18 month payment plan makes this even more of a no brainer for SL owners. I paid $240 up front and then will pay $120/mo for the next 18 months. Now whenever I heard a squeak or a creak in the car I don't cringe.
If that's not good enough, when you go sell your car, you can get a pro-rated refund based on the time or mileage (whichever is greater). So let's say I sell in 24 months or 24,000 miles. I can get around $1200 refund on my warranty. Disclaimer: I haven't done the exact calcs for this so I could be off by a little, but the point is that you can get some money back if you sell your car before the warranty is up.
Actually, after typing this I think I probably should have gotten a 5/60 or 6/72!! What did I have to lose??
Lastly, the warranty is transferrable. So when you go sell the car your buyer will be much more comfortable with purchasing your SL. If your buyer won't pay more for your SL because of it, then you just go get the refund.
