Here's the real deal guys...the new hotness being unloaded.
Took my ML in for service and caught a glimpse of a gorgeous Black SL500 being unloaded off a truck. good stuff.
and notice the rear wheel came off the track...boy is that guy in trouble! oh yeah, his plumbers crack is showing as well.
Now he's trying to prop the car back on the ramp with a crude wooden contraption.

I wonder what got bent/dented/scraped/broken in that little oops. You can bet the buyer won't check and if something goes wrong under warranty the buyer will be charged for misusing the car! Never heard the term "plumbers crack" before....LOL

Judging from the background and the close proximity to the freeway,...Methinks this was at RAB motors in San Rafael?? I wonder which clueless Marinite is taking delivery of THIS delivery faux pas??!

What are the chances of the dealer trying to cover this up? 100% I would say.
You owe it to the owner of the car to send the dealer the photographs and tell them that if you don't receive confirmation from the owner directly that he's seen the pictures, you'll communicate with him another way, through the local papers who love this "rich man's mishap" stuff.
That should spoil the salesman's day and get him thinking beyond his end of month commission....
If that happened to my car, I'd be more than grateful for the intervention.

Just imagine the look on the owners face about one month after he takes delivery of that car and wakes up in the morning and sees that picture.
I do think the dealer will attempt to cover it up, infact the truck driver probably won't even inform the dealer of what happened!

My God!!!...
a good reminder to give the car a real good looking over at delivery...it would be so easy to cover something like this up...you wonder what else they did to the car getting it out if this mess.

I e-mailed the Sales Manager aswell, and just received a response.
This SL500 was NOT for R.A.B. Motors, but for another dealership. The car that fell off was a car that was being shipped by a broker to someone, not a dealership. He also assured me that Mercedes-Benz does not use this shipping company.
Now we can all sleep well tonight.

Goldeni, he told me the same thing about the mini cooper. I am going to assume that the mini was on the truck also, but they had to unload the SL500 to get it out.
