Recommended Tire Pressure?

What is the recommended tire pressure for the Michelin Pilot Sport OEM on the SL500? I have the 255/40/18 fronts and 285/35/18 rears.

After fixing the tire pressure monitor, the car was returned to me from the dealer with cold readings of 28 front and 30 rear. These warm to 30 and 32 respectively.

The official recommended tire pressures should be on the inside of the fuel flap (at least on the E).

cold tire pressures around 35 psi is good. 28 might be a little low.. I work at a MB dealer and we set them around 34-36 psi.

Enterprise rent-a-car!!!
correct pressure for an R230 with those tires is 30psi frt 33 psi rear.
Not sure what dealer the other guys are working at but they should check the tecnical data book(or look inside the gas flap)

The lower weight setting does show as 30 and 33 for the cold pressures on the gas cap door.

doesn't anyone really own an SL here? tire pressure is noted on a placard in the driver's side door jamb.

I think the dealer put them lower since it makes the ride smoother, etc.

On my 20's I run 2 psi more in the front since that is what Luke said is best...

Actually, in my experiance higher would do that. Lower makes the steering heavier.
