Special offer for SL 550 (Bay Area only)

Just a quick update guys. As you guys know Renntech is coming to town. We are inviting SL 550/600 to join us on the dyno day and try the Renntech software. If you are not satisfied, we will flash the car back to stock and you dont have to pay a single cent!

interesting! how much if we're satisfied? you got a long stretch of road w/ no cops in your area so we can do some quick gtech 0-60 runs before and after? i know it's not the same as a track but given the circumstances, it's better than nothing right?

Cushing parkway. Special pricing of course. Retail is $1995, but on that day, its special pricing.

Is the pricing 1700 as you stated a week ago or is it more special than that? i'm hoping for the more special.

Its less if you do not want the dyno runs. Its about 1600 with dyno runs!

PS: The dyno location is charging us $100 for 3 pulls (1 run, and we need pre/post runs) with A/F ratio. We are dyno tuning after we get a baseline.

so about 1500 w/o dyno runs. is there really a need to fine tune a stock sl550? don't they have a program that just works w/ all stock sl550's since it's pretty much the same components in a stock car. yes?

what day is this happening?

November 5th and November 6th. We have couple of cars lined up on both days. Yes, we do have the files worked out but we would like to custom map for each of our clients cars; maybe on different octane?

Renntech softwear

as a new owner (04 sl 500) can someone explain in simple terms what this is all about? I assume new softwear would increase horsepower but how and can it be done on a 500?

romeo, adam will be posting the dyno soon. the chip picked up about 23hp and 22 or so tq. the trottle response also improved. adam gave me the chance to drive home on saturday with the upgrade and make a couple of runs and see how i liked it. i did about 3 gtech runs and got about 0-60 in 5.1s. i didn't get good traction as the ground was a bit damp. i should also mention my car had only 700 miles on the od.

sunday the dyno was done and they flashed it back to the original program to do a base line. my stock dyno number was pretty low. if i remember correctly, i only made 289 rwhp. WTF? how does that translate to 382hp at the crank? with the chip, i got 312 rwhp.

i'd like to thank adam and his crew and renntech for everything. they are first class. i ended up purchasing the upgrade.

so to summarize, yes, the renntech chip does indeed give you more hp and tq in addition to improved trottle response. if you happen to live in a state that has 93 octance, your gains might be more. i definitely think baseline numbers will also be higher than mine w/ 93 octane.

i'll be happy to answer any questions.

hmm....very interesting........i wish u had dyno before u went in there.........can u be more specific about throttle response..............i feel you made the choice to buy chip because you just wanted to get stock hp.......something wrong here................on a positive note we had a fun time in atl this weekend............my best time was 13.573 at 101.....car felt a little weak top end
