Just bought some new rims for my sl500

I went with the 3 piece asanti af122 rims in black, i have a black on black sl. I went with the 20 inchs do the 20 inchs really give the sl a rougher ride? or its just a rumor? What do u guys think of these rims anyone have them? should be coming in about a month. Hopefully will post some pictures. Also anyone can help me out on which tires to get? perrerli or nitto for the sl?

The ride is compromised because of the smaller profile tires you are about to use. However, the quality of the ride wont be THAT BAD but it wont be the same like stock. Pirerri or Nitto? I recommend none of those. Contisportcontact 3.

I definately feel it when I go over the little reflector things between the lanes in my 20". Could it be because the tires are a lot wider? Other than that, I love the look and how it handles.

I went with the F120's on my E and don't feel that much of a difference. Don't get me wrong. You know there is a different wheel on the car when driving, but not that bad.

With our cars, there won't be a huge difference, especially for those of us who already have 18s on. It would be a pronounced difference if you went from a car with say 16 inch rims to 20's. I think the ride with the stock 18s is a little rough myself, anyone agree?

E 63S Wagon Renntech, E55 Renntech, SL65, SL 55 030, ML, bunch of old ones--they come, they go...
Don't waste your time with...

the Pewewwi or the Continental, get the Michigan Pilot Sport 2. Best performance tire I have ever ridden on.

You may be right...

but I'm running 295/25/20 on my BMW, which probably will work. The Pilot Sport 2 is soo good though...

Michelin Pilot Sport 2's rock.
However sometimes they have balancing issues.

I have Asanti 20" AF120 in Black ... ride is just fine ... not as stiff as my SRT8, but it has a much more stiff suspension.

When i get in the SL from the SRT8, I feel a HUGE differance ... SL is a lot more softer.
