Finally: drove a 2007 SL550
I just got my 2007 SLK last year, but I had the urge to sit inside an SL and take it for a spin...
So I went to a local dealership and drove a white 2007 SL550... and wow!
This car is amazing... faster, roomier, more powerful and smoother... heck, even the top comes down a lot faster than in the smaller SLK...
One thing I didn't like: what is that material on part of the steering wheel that feels like cold marble? ... I didn't like the feel of it, and it didn't provide good grip on turns. Is it standard or optional?
Anyway, I have 4 vehicles on my short list:
* 2007 GL-Class
* 2008 C-Class
* 2007 S-Class
* 2007 SL-Class
I will probably end of getting the first two by the end of the year, if any.

Sorry, I meant "I will probably end up getting..."
If you are still confused....
There are 4 vehicles that I would like to buy in the 2007/2008 model years. Realistically speaking, I will not be able to buy all 4 of them.
However, depending on how this year goes, I would like to buy at least the GL and the 2008 C-Class. That depends on finances and family additions by the end of 2008.
Oh, and although I love the SL, I already have an SLK, and I won't be able to get the SL if I get the other cars first.
Does that make sense?

07 SL55, 1954 Corvette, 09 E350
I had an 2001 SLK320 that I really liked. I sold it the day before Christmas this last year. Now have an 07 SL550 that has a lot more power (382 hp) and is much more sure footed on the road, due to the added weight and larger tires on the SL550. Any color SL looks fantastic.
