What's with
What's with the BMW, trading in an 07 on an 05 SL.

Just Curious.

Sl 500
I know I've heard this from every person I tell I'm thinking about doing this. they all say are you fu--king nuts? Maybe but I always wanted the SL just didn't think about buying used before I purchased the BMW. The BMW is a great car really, it's just not as sexy and sporty as the SL, I know the BMW is quicker and will probably handle better but I've seen this car for sale for 2.5 months they started at 80K I knew that was way to high but at 70k I can swing it I just have to convince myself I'mnot being foolish, cars they are an addiction.

I just bought a similar one in Dec for $74,000. It is a Black 2005 Sports Package with keyless go, comfort package and bi-xenons. It had 6400 miles. At the time that price was good for this one so the $70,000 sounds good to me.

It's a great car but the real question for you is whether it is something you will be happy with in a year- maybe at that point you'll want an SL550 or SL55. Then you'll take another hit when you sell it.

I'm very happy with the SL500 but leased it so that I can change my mind in a year.

If I was going to spent that type of money for an SL I would certainly look at SL550. The extra horsepower and torque are something that I would certainly want after driving my 03' for several years. I love my car but I know there are really no practical mods that can be done to give you what the 550 has. With the quick deprciation of these cars, give the 550 a short while to drop to your price range. Other wise look for a low mileage, late build 04' possibly CPO'd. Just my 2 cents. Never consider one of these without sometype of full coverage extended warranty. Good luck.

Must say I have the Diamond Silver and I get more good comments about the car because of the color than most any other car I've owned. I had to get mine for the other side of the country to get that color.

I like how Diamond Silver looks slightly different in various lighting conditions. Its a great color although sometimes it looks a little too blue.

I just bought a 2005 silver over charcoal, sport package, 7900 mile car for 65,000. Car is perfect. There are a lot of these cars. For the record I sold my 2006 M5 on ebay. I hated the SMG transmission.:

SL is the way to go
For just a little more you can go SL55

The difference between the SL500 and the new SL550 is
significant. But go to the SL55 and its HUGE.
Nothing like 500 HP at your command.

2005 SL55 20K Miles. Paid $86K back in June 2006.
Bet you could get one for about $ 75K now.
Maybe even less.

sounds like a deal
a few months back, I bought an 04 diamond silver with teal blue interior and black ash wood. I havnt yet seen another like it. The exterior and interior all flow together nicely.
I paid $64K with 13000 mi. LA prices might be higher.
Your deal sounds pretty good to me and I do like the color.
