Ok Guys, tell me what you think....

Here's My new Grocery getter.... I would like to thank Heath for the Great deal on the Cor wheels as They look Stunning on the car. I would like to also thank John @ Air-ride-suspension for the lowering links as they are the perfect choice for lowering the car to the stance it deserves. Last but not least to Charles for the Eisenman exhaust system that gives the Benz some Cajones . I will be trading out the 'Grandpa' wood interior trim for Carbon fiber Very soon. I have the parts, I just have to get my guy over to install it and Leonard carson is doing the wheel. Thanks in advance leonard for the great work!!! Anyway tell me what you think guys....

I would think that you can get any kind of groceries that you want with that car. Day or night, she would be the envy of anyone else in the parking lot.

Gqa, I bought them from used, well only used for one week but used none the less.

Stephan, AMG tag is for aesthetical purposes only. However, they do offer an AMG package(Body package) for the SL500. But you should really hear it now that the Eisenman exhaust is on it...She Sounds Sweet

Real nice. Wheels are sharp.

Just so you know, putting AMG badges on SLs that are not real AMG SLs (engine not body kit) is extremely frowned upon by most in this community. Changing lights or exhaust is one thing, but badging is a no-no. If it makes you happy...

Sorry but.
We do tend to take that AMG badge too seriously.
Out here on the left coast we call it a "poser".

Car does look great. Enjoy !!

Car looks great!

I'd kill the fake AMG badge though, if it didn't come with the car from the factory, it doesn't belong. I don't see how it adds to it aesthetically, it's a badge which says the car is something other then it is

your car is not and never will be an AMG. Take it off
Seriously though, your car doesnt even have the sport package. Take that **** off, I promise your car will look just as good without it.

Wow, some serious opinions about this. When I took delivery
of my SL from the benz dealer, it had a factory AMG badge on
it. I just removed all badges since it looks cleaner, but from
what I have seen, a few SL's that had the kit came with the
badge. It even shows it in the catalog.

That Benz dealer put it on themselves, as they do not come that way from the factory. If the benz dealer put it on themselves, it still doesnt make it right. I would LOVE to see that catalog your talking about, because chances are, that was a picture of the 55, and not the 500

+1

Dealers do that kind of crap to make it more appealing to buyers who don't know a lot and get impressed by cool badging.

It won't ever come from the factory that way.

Very pretty car, and don't let these guys give you too hard a time about the badge. I bet it sounds great.

Really, awesome wheels, and car, you got me wishing I had gone black, what'they cost you anyhow? or,what are they new$?
DJ do you know, did they come just like that out of the box or had they been modified/painted? Other colors available?
Any clearance problems - scrubbing on speed-bumps coz ya'll went and lowered it?

What a great setup, but isnt it nerve-wracking to drive on the street? Id be stressing about bottoming out all the time. Tell me it drives as reliably and carefree as stock and mine may be next in line for conversion!

ps. anyone know what has come of the SSC Aero's second attempt at topping the Veyron's high mark? First time out the car apparently attained 230mph but had to quit bcoz of time/weather. That was quite a while ago and i see no news since. Seems to have failed them, pity.

By the way, i do think the badging adds to your car nicely, though in my case i think it would not contribute. I'll have to be satisfied with the AMG punch on the wheels.

your car looks great. i was wondering what u paid for your lowering links and the exhaust. i would remove the AMG badge, even if it came like that from the factory.you can only sport that badge if you have the big boy motor. just my 2 cents. enjoy ur car.

Trust me, I am a big time MB fan, and previously had
a CLK 55. I didnt believe it when I saw it, but they gave
me a catalog from MB which showed an early '03 SL500
sport, and it had the AMG badge on it. I called another
dealer, and they informed me that some of the first cars
did infact come with the decal already on them. I dont
believe its accurate to have it on the vehicle, so I removed
it very shortly after delivery.

Allminesl550, The wheels were used (for one week) and I got them for a steal trust me. As per the cost new? No idea. Cor can do whatever you want as they are custom made per application of the vehicle. No rubbing and I sometimes will set the vehicle on the second ride height for those low entrances and exits... WheelsBoutique.com sells the brand. Good luck

who cares anyway!

Rj, thanks, amazing car, enjoy it.
Rajah996, I was just thinking maybe there was a wrong badge on that '03 catalog car, but not the amg badge on the right, rather the sl500 badge on the left. In other words maybe it was an sl55 with an sl500 badge on it!
That would really be a long shot, i reckon.

(now dont say "but I remember the exhaust tips were not amg motor.........."
bcoz you know what id say to that now dont you.

Trust me, in there mind your bad *** car looks like **** to them, the posse consist of several long standing members in the community, one of there main focuses is searching all threads until they find one like yours... then whammo, they go on a attack, this attack leaves most victims feeling like complete dog****, once there goal is accomplished, they recede and await the next victim.... just a little fyi...PS' i love your car.
