thanks
Stephan, AMG tag is for aesthetical purposes only. However, they do offer an AMG package(Body package) for the SL500. But you should really hear it now that the Eisenman exhaust is on it...She Sounds Sweet

Just so you know, putting AMG badges on SLs that are not real AMG SLs (engine not body kit) is extremely frowned upon by most in this community. Changing lights or exhaust is one thing, but badging is a no-no. If it makes you happy...

I'd kill the fake AMG badge though, if it didn't come with the car from the factory, it doesn't belong. I don't see how it adds to it aesthetically, it's a badge which says the car is something other then it is

Seriously though, your car doesnt even have the sport package. Take that **** off, I promise your car will look just as good without it.

of my SL from the benz dealer, it had a factory AMG badge on
it. I just removed all badges since it looks cleaner, but from
what I have seen, a few SL's that had the kit came with the
badge. It even shows it in the catalog.

Dealers do that kind of crap to make it more appealing to buyers who don't know a lot and get impressed by cool badging.
It won't ever come from the factory that way.
DJ do you know, did they come just like that out of the box or had they been modified/painted? Other colors available?
Any clearance problems - scrubbing on speed-bumps coz ya'll went and lowered it?
What a great setup, but isnt it nerve-wracking to drive on the street? Id be stressing about bottoming out all the time. Tell me it drives as reliably and carefree as stock and mine may be next in line for conversion!
ps. anyone know what has come of the SSC Aero's second attempt at topping the Veyron's high mark? First time out the car apparently attained 230mph but had to quit bcoz of time/weather. That was quite a while ago and i see no news since. Seems to have failed them, pity.
By the way, i do think the badging adds to your car nicely, though in my case i think it would not contribute. I'll have to be satisfied with the AMG punch on the wheels.

a CLK 55. I didnt believe it when I saw it, but they gave
me a catalog from MB which showed an early '03 SL500
sport, and it had the AMG badge on it. I called another
dealer, and they informed me that some of the first cars
did infact come with the decal already on them. I dont
believe its accurate to have it on the vehicle, so I removed
it very shortly after delivery.
WheelsBoutique.com sells the brand. Good luck
Rajah996, I was just thinking maybe there was a wrong badge on that '03 catalog car, but not the amg badge on the right, rather the sl500 badge on the left. In other words maybe it was an sl55 with an sl500 badge on it!
That would really be a long shot, i reckon.
(now dont say "but I remember the exhaust tips were not amg motor.........."
bcoz you know what id say to that now dont you.
