front bumper upgrade?
hey guys, has anyone in the US changed their front bumper to the new 07 sl65 amg front bumper like maxabo did? he's in sweden so things maybe a little different here. i believe you have to change the 4 slat grille to the new 3 slat grille as well. i want to know has someone done it here and what problems you may have had, before i buy these non returnable parts!

Front Bumper Upgrade
Why would you want your SL500 to look like an SL65? I recommend you get an upgraded 07 AMG Sport Package bumper but not a TRUE AMG SL65 bumper. It will look like you want people to think you drive a SL65. If you want to change bumpers, why don't you just go Brabus front bumper. It looks sick!

thanks for the replies but i have to change my front bumper due to this hole i got in it from a damn piece of pipe floating around on the highway (terrible luck). i figured Id change it to the sl65 07 since i like the new aggressive look with the side vents. trust me ive been surfing the net looking at other options which either were too expensive or not aggressive enough with a clean factory look. i just want to change the front bumper as i am satisfied with the rest of the car.
i would neeever put an sl65 or amg badge on my car, besides my brothers would ridicule me to death! lol
i may just stick with an 07' amg bumper non sl65. has anyone upgraded to this?

Bumper, Side skirts, hood, etc....
In this verison the raised part is exactly like on the SLR. It is in 2 pieces , one part as part of the hood, the lower part as part of the bumper.
The rear bumper is also available as SLR.
Place selling says they are orginal SLR parts that get fitted to SL body shape. The side skirts come with or without side exhausts. You can also choose if you want functional or non-functional side exhausts. For functional side exhausts, the mod comes with Road Certification.

lot of interesting parts. i think it would be wise to wait for the black series sl to come out and change the front parts to be more up to date. duct tape the hole for a while on the back side.

With the 08's coming out, you may want to see if there is someway to put them on. Will the 08 lower the price of 07's, I doubt it, so go with the most up to date. I like the shark gills in the fender photos.
