Consedering A 08 SL55?? Advise Needed Please
When is the SL body sched to change?
I would hate to buy and find that a new body will be out soon!!
Also whats a good dollar amount to expect off of the M.S.R.P on A 08 SL55??

See the current thread for "2009 SL picture" for spy photos of the facelifted 2009 SL due next year (maybe spring or summer 2008). A major body change is due somewhere around 2011, give or take a year.

I completly agree. They got the new C and CL right but I think they really screwed up on this one. Get one RIGHT NOW. They look beautiful. Classic Mercedes-Benz ambitious styling yet fast and sleek.

If you like more the 07 looking and you plan to keep the car for some years buy it now....otherway wait. The price of 07 model will decrease more than usual with facelift but if you like the car and you don't plan to sell soon the lost is only virtual

I'm quite split on this one right now myself. Personally, I thought the 2008 was more beautiful than the upcoming "single-headlight" version, but now I'm actually getting more and more convinced of the new design just by looking at the spy pictures on the internet. I think the best thing to do is to wait out until there are clearer pictures on the internet that show what the new one will actually look like. Maybe it'll be much better than what we think right now, maybe it'll be a disaster. But when I checked with the people at my local dealership, they said that they had quite a bit of 2008 SLs that they could get their hands on, so I would not rush into it if I were you.

Hi,
That picture is of the SL Black edition... Evidenced by the rear wing.
The 2009 facelifted model is going to get CLS headlights, and the grill, and lower angular cowling of the current models... In my opinion a downgrade.
The all new SL, I believe they are going to call it the R231 is supposedly due out 2011-2012.
You can never imagine how they would top the current car... But I thought that about the R129. But, I feel the current car is destined for classic status... Maybe not Gullwing Classic status, but Classic Status non the less.

Buy a pre-owned '06 and save yourself twenty grand and it'll have oem warranty thru 2010. No stress about the unknown ruining your Wheaties breakfeast. Black is beautiful no matter what new colors arrive in '09.
