Thanks

Red wasn't my first choice as I was looking for my used SL, BUT when I came accross this car at the price and condition I went for it.

Don't know where you're located, but by California standards for time of year that's about an average deal for non-certified (which from your dealer plate, I'm guess is the case) but a good deal for a certified. Have you double-checked your warranty date with MB? Many 2005s were first titled in 2004 which would lead me to believe your warranty runs out next year some time. In any case, you may want to slap a Starmark extended limited warranty (@3K) or so, as the last thing you want to do is drive an unwarranteed SL.

My dealer is dropping prices on all their SL's. Starting to snow here now so it makes sense. None are CPO cars and only have remaining factory warranties. I paid about $10K less for my 2003 CPO extended to 3 years/100K miles then the 2005 Silver SL that they are selling which is not a CPO car. Bottom line I will have 3 years and another 60K miles of coverage on my car then the 2 years and 35K miles that is left on the 2005 for $10K less then the discounted price on the 2005. Since you can't tell mine from new I guess I am happy about this for only one reason. I would not want to own a SL that is not covered under a MB warranty. So I am getting one more year of use from my car for $10K less then I would from the 2005. I also don't know about resale value. I bet that I will come out on the short end since mine will be a 2003 with right at 100K miles 3 years from now versu a 2005 with 50K miles 2 years from now. But based on these cars mine might have all new parts by the time the warranty runs out

Happy with Deal

I'm very happy with the deal I got. When comparing prices accross the country, not too many SL's out there, in MINT condition, that are selling for 60,000 with only 14,000 miles, California or anywhere else. The warranty is good for 2 more years, and by then I'll be into another toy.

Also, I got an extra 2 grand from them on the trade of my 02 Boxster, which was yellow. Good luck to them selling that in the winter
