I have one of those Motorola 60C phones that came with my SL500. My main phone is an Iphone.

My questions are this:

1. Is there anyway to integrate the Iphone into the Mercedes speaker phone system?

2. Is there a modern phone that I can replace the 60C with? Verizon will not allow me a pay as you go plan on the 60c because it's not 911 compatible.

Thanks

Brian

iPhone does work perfectly with the MB Bluetooth adapter (puck).
iPhone works better than anything else. You also have an option to answer/call with either iPhone or MBphone system.

buy the puck and put it in the cradle and pair it.

I just purchased the 'puck' and put it in an '04. Everything works, except when a call comes in, it doesn't display the name, only the phone number. I've tested a few times, where the person calling me is in my contacts list. I even see the address book when I'm in the COMMAND system. Am I doing something wrong? Please help.

Thanks,

Thanks,
I haven't verified this with the puck, but previously, with a hard-wired cradle phone, I found that callerid name recognition was sensitive to the exact way the number was stored and the cellular carrier transmitted the number. At the time, AT&T was purchasing Cingular, and they would transmit the callerid number differently (with and without the leading "1"), so 18005551212 or 8005551212. I found that this would only match the name if I had the number stored the exact same way in my contacts - a leading "+" would throw it off, and if I had the "1" Cingular cell towers would work, but ATT would fail. The phone itself could do the mapping, but not the COMAND.

The other thing to verify (sounds like did this already) is that only the first 250 (I think) contacts are transferred

I trade my 03 E500 for the 08 C350 and I just took my MB bluetooth puck out and used it in my SL work just fine....

Ah, what phone handset do you have? The BT puck did not sync contacts or call lists (and hence no name callerid) with my Nokia E-70 or Sony-Ericsson K790a, but it does with the iPhone (3G in my case)

ok, in that case see my comment above in this thread about numbers with/without the leading "1", area code, etc - the COMAND is not able to do "smart" matching like phones can, it seems to require the callerid to match the stored number exactly.
