Exclamation ASAP! Buying Rims. Size verify.

Dear colleagues,

I considered to be some rims for my SL at last.
And I have a very nice offer from dealer.
But all rims are 20x8.5 5/112 ET35

What do you about those ones? will they fit on SL?

What are your suggestions on tires?

It's ASAP, please make your comments.

Thanks.

No chance for rear rims to be 20x8.5?

The 20x9.5 is an optional fitment for a staggered look. If you don't want a staggered setup, then, you can use 20 x 8.5 in the rear.

You think this 1 inch will make a huge difference of looking? :|
And if finally i choose those rims, what size of tire should I use on the rear rims? The same as with 9.5?

Thanks.

IMO, 1 inch does make a difference. I prefer a staggered look, because #1 it's an aggressive stance and #2, because the OEM fitment is staggered on an SL, regardless of 17, 18,19, or 20'.

20x9.5 9(Rim size).

I see... Well, you know I have to agree, because today in the morning before going to gym, I dropped a look on my rear wheels, and realized that if I'll put 8.5, those rims will be too much inside of my car...

I have to figure out something... I guess those things (don't know how to say in english), let's say separators, which make rim to look wider, are not good to use?

Also, I have some issues that if I put 255/35 and 275/30, there is no chance of lowering later, right? Because I read here on forums, that lots of people have troubles with bolts or smth... Anyways, in Lithuania, all are total losers and don't know how to lower SL... Damn!

To lower your car, you can simply click 'ABC' and lower your car w/ 20' and it will look pretty nice. if you want to further lower professionally , you can get the RennTech lowering module. do a search on the forum, many have done that. It's a matter of personal taste and willing to pay for such optionals.

btw..seperators called 'spacers' here.

255/35 and 275/30, there is no chance of lowering later, right?
- That I am not sure about. I would check w/ specialized wheel shop or tuner if u can find one in your area. Or maybe do a search on the forum.

good luck.

Well, I just bought those rims from the shop: 20x8.5 ET35.
Also, took spacers, which fit perfectlly, but I'm a lil bit confused of using them. Dealer says that it's ok...

Now, thinking about tires, what size to use.
It's a big problem with them, read somewhere that the best choice would be 255/30R20 for all 4 wheels.

Thanks for your opinion.

Artyi.

amer...do you know if a local dealer will lower it...I heard something about the dealers being able to lower using a STAR machine?? I've looked into the RennTech module and the Eibach module...don't know what to do yet, maybe going through a dealer would not create warranty issues down the road when I have my extened warranty...what do ya think? Your local, can HBL, American Serivce Center or Euromotorcars do anything?
