Roof problems.

I have some roof problems...
I'll list it, maybe you have some ideas about it:

1) In the trunk, under the cover, there are two details (like wings) of roof covered with leather, which are used for covering when a roof is opened. One of them got loose... Any ideas why? Because another one is firmly attached to trunk cover... I have no idea how it happened?

2) Some noise is coming from the back, like bouncing, can't find out what it is... It started when i turned my car very strongly like 70 degrees. So now on every pit, i hear something like bolt bouncing, but when I take my roof down it disappears, so I'm guessing it's in mechanism... Any ideas what can loose or happen? It is so annoying... :|

Thanks!

I have the same noise as you describe in No. 2. At first I though it was the roof mechanism because like you I thought it stopped with the top down. But I soon noticed it was still there but masked by wind noise.

I've been removing trim from the boot in a bid to find something obvious but nothing doing. Another chap over here posted the same problem. At first his dealer thought it was one of the rear suspension units which they replaced but the noise was still there. Eventually they identified it to a faulty boot latch.

I've yet to look at this and wouldn't have thought this could cause of the noise but with nothing else left to check I'll look here.

Hope this is of some help and maybe if you find the cause of your rattle you could let me know and I'll do the same.
Cheers
David

I mean the boot lock located in the bottom lip of the boot (trunk) lid which latches to the tab above the rear bumper.

I guess we need to find the reason by ourselves. Because yesterday my dealer didn't find anything...

knocking noise intrunk

If you hear it when you hit the brakes and come to a stop, theres is a flap in the gas tank, that thumps around, i have a friend who uses an unorthodox fix and bends the flap in the tank, dealer acts if they never heard of such if you are out of warranty limits, anyway the conventional fix would be a new gas tank, ty

I had a knocking creacing noise in the back BUT only when the roof is UP.
took my car to the dealer and someone drove with me and as soon as he heard the noise he told to me go back to the shop.
something in the mechanism was loose....seems like they know about this noise.
hope this helps...

I see... Nice, so if you'll go back to the shop, ask them what have they done to repair it.
I was thinking that it is loose too, but in my dealership they told that it is impossible.
Please, ask them exactly what they fixed, so I'll know what to look for...

Thanks

I had a lot of creaking and cracking noise from my car. I checked the trim, top, trunk lid etc. My dealer found that the bolts in the bulkhead behind the seats had vibrated loose. Since this has been fixed, I have not had a sound out of my top at all. It is even quieter now then when it was new. I removed the trim before I took it to the dealer so that eliminated them from looking there. I love driving my car again

Thanks for that...
From my side of view, these words and numbers don't give a picture at all, but maybe at service they will understand something.

Still for me its a mystery this sound...

i copied straight from the invoice...maybe if you show your shop the description they will understand.
