It sure does not suck to be this kid. At 17 he get's tired of his 335i convertable and dad hands him over keys to a 2009 SL550. Now to make things more painful for the rest of us; it's car #1 out of 550 from the Silver Arrows Edition. Good for him; bummer for the rest of us

Lol don't buy into MB's marketing trick..they all say they are 1 of 550...same as the Diamond White Edition CLS. Yes there are only 550 made, but the same dash plaque goes into all of them. I've checked this edition out at my dealership and just as with the Diamond White Edition CLS its a waste of money. There are a couple options you can't get on the standard SL such as the interior color, but everything else can be added to the car as an option for less money than they want for the special packaging.

Its not the fact that its car #1 out of the Silver Arrows series but rather that a 17 year old kid is dehind the wheel of a $110,000 car. Damn ! I guess its nice to have loaded parents.

It could be that its not car #1 (as in build # 1) of the series. It could be that it's 1 car out of 550; in which case all the cars will say #1 of 550. We should be checking VIN numbers to distinguish the cars.

It clearly says "1 of 550" not "#1 of 550." That's the difference.

Yep; I went back to look at the picture and you are right; it does say 1 out of 550. But a $110,000 car for a 17 year old; damn !

Yeah that was the point I was trying to make, its 1 of 550 produced, they did the same thing with the CLS Diamond White Edition. I mentioned to my salesman they must have been pretty lucky to get car number one and he laughed, took me around back and they had two others, both saying 1 of 550. Its a sales gimmick to make you think your getting something rare, although having a car that there were only 550 made does seem pretty rare, but not when your dealership has three of them to begin with ha ha. I get ya though, a kid shouldn't be cruising in this, but then Paris Hilton shouldn't be driving an SLR either.

17 18 25 50 95 yr old...whatever!!! Why the gimmick? I cant believe he took you to the back to show you more cars labeled 1 of 550. That is wild!!
