SL65 or SL600 need to have straight pipes!
Had it done about 6wks ago & still can't get over how badazz this car is w/3" straight pipes, NO mufflers & quad AMG tips feels a bit stronger on the top-end too Pix from 6wks back, sorry just got around to loading them to Photobucket.
PS.. There is ABSOLUTELY NO DROAN!!!! @ at any speed, just Excellent aggressive growl when stabbing the throttle that should of accompanied this BEAST from the factory...

Yes, I got some protective film that are lightly tinted here:

Still not sure if I will leave it on or remove it.
The best way would be to paint the housing but I have not find a good painter yet, will look more closely into this in the winter.

I just find the chrome in our headlights is too strong and stands out too much on black.

My Opinion
I like the fact that the SL600 is quiet, it is like a sleeper. One time when I was at Gainesville Raceway, a guy who was video taping the races, afterwards said something like, WOW that car really ROARS once it gets going.......
I see a lot of people do things to their exhausts to act like they have power, I would rather appear that I don't and have it....
But I also know everyone has there own opinion.

I am also into being stealth with my SL55. Its loud enough when I get on it hard. No need to attract extra attention.
Also
Better to avoid those "Imperial Entanglements" with the local PD.
Thericker. Look forward to hearing your V12 when we see you at CC.

The 55 has a great stock exhaust note but it is somewhat too quiet for me. I like it loud not just for noise sake... it makes me feel more connected to the engine and car as a whole.

bhp should be at the engine, I believe. A simple (but not cheap) ECU/TCU tune will get a 600 to that figure. I got my ECU/TCU tuned and my after dyno has me getting ~630bhp and ~850tq. And I wasn't all that happy with the way the dyno was run. I think the car might actually have a little more in there...
