r230 500 chassis, kleemann engine. and questions...
hi everybody, just got my r230 a week back.
its a 2002 sl 500, with mods.
not sure what they are yet lol, but the seller claims 650 hp to the wheel.
i just got to drive it yesterday and wasnt very impressed...
it didnt pull as fast as i expected.
and.. the rpm started to fluctuate at the beginning, as i pass 40 km/hr its fine. happen to anyone?
can i play cd's wich i put in the "in dash". or does it only play the cd's in the changer?
do all models have an aux input, if not how do i know if i have one?
it gives me 2 messages in the screen:
1 brake lining
2 engine oil level, reduce engine oil
are these two serious, could the engine oil be the problem for not getting that much speed, or the fluctuating rpms?
and for the brakes, how much would i have to pay... and does it have to be done at the dealers?
i like to work on my own car, but i dont wanna mess with this thing..
i usually post in the sl55 forum but dont get much responses... so i thought ill try out here lol

i want all the questions answered ASAP.
and yes it is a 2002, r230...
and in kuwait there is an r230 2002 wich is an original 55K amg.

USA got cars starting in '03. The rest of the planet got them earlier.
It sounds like whoever did the mods, didn't do a very good job. If you had 650 to the wheels, you would feel it.
The brake lining message means that you need brakes.
The oil level is indicating that you have too much oil.
Is there any way that you can return this car. It sounds like this could be a money pit.

lol, i tried an 03 sl55 amg just to feel te difference, and it flew....
i msged the person i bought the car from, still no answer.
i have petrol leaking from underneath the car, it happens randomly when i stop the car.
i hope i can get my money back..

no money back:S.
i took it to a garage, lifted it up...
its leaking oil from the dipstick, and i still cant find out where the petrol is dripping from...
i kept it thier affraid to move it lol.
ill be going again today to check up on it.

dipstick replaced, oil reduced (was off by an extra 2 liters!!) brakes changed, plastic cover under the car was broken so i changed that too...
didnt drive it yet, my brother test drove it and told me yes it is a 650 hp car lol.
btw i have this engine number, can anyone here tell me what it is?
