I went to a car show today in San Jose and they showed all the new models for '03. Out of all the cars there the 500 SL was my favorite car! It was just perfect in every way! It is my new dream car! Any of you out there that owns one of those cars should consider yourselves very lucky!!! Feel free to share your love for these cars!!!

me too pal, I actually sat in one at a dealership. It was like being in heaven. what i dont understand is people with these cars trading them in fr CL's or S55 amg's or whatever, the SL is the best looking car MB ever made.

paul, its probably because us Europeans have never seen an MB like this, one that looks like an amazing MB, but makes the sound of am American V8. You Americans are taking these cars for granted!!!

Probably yes. I have seen less than five SL 500 in the street since this model is released.

Im sure you know living in Europe or the UK, NOT everyone can have an MB and maintain it

Last year, 2.5 million new cars were sold in the UK, and somewhere between 1200 - 1800 SLs. That's about 1 in 1500. They're never going to be a commonplace sight.

Even were I live u hardly see them around Essex county which has some affluent neighborhoods

Since the SL has been out I have only seen it 3 times. Not including the ones at the dealership. And i live in FLorida
