Updated my SL600 with AMG tails....
I finally got around to swapping mine out, thanks derrick_lui
Firstly, this is not a super simple task. Unless you're comfortable with taking apart the rear of your trunk, I would just pay someone else to do it. There is one nut in particular (driver side ) that is a complete pain to get out, and even harder to get back on due to the complete lack of space you're working in. Unless you have a set of wobble sockets, pivot head ratchets, and knuckle joints, I wouldn't even attempt it.
Pics are bad, taken in a dark garage. But the car is in hibernation, under a cover and hooked to it's battery tender right now until the Spring.

That looks great
I am so glad you posted these picturs. My AMG smoked lights just arrived today. I thought they would look way better than the all red. Now I know they do.
Only problem is it looks really hard to take the lights off.

I highly suggest that after you get one nut off, go to Lowe's or Home Depot and buy about 10 more of the same nut. You're going to drop some and lose them down in the abyss. Trust me. I just took my whole lamp assembly with me. It takes an 8mm nut.
