How do i remove the instrument cluster ?.

Hi all

As per the title, how do i remove the instrument cluster from my 2003 SL500 ?. I need to take it out to send it away for repair and dont want to start pulling at the plastic shroud incase i need to unclip it or something ?.

Has anyone ever done this on an SL R230 ?.

Thanks

1. pull off the the bezel around the cluster (pull straight out)
2. remove the 3 screws holding the cluster down
3. pull the cluster out and remove the wire harness

ps: make sure you disconnect both batteries before

Hi omar26

Will i have to reset all the memory settings when after i disconnect the batteries ?.

Im new to SL ownership and just want to be clear before i start the work.

So the bezel isnt screwed on / clipped on ? It just pulls straight off ?.

Thanks

Ok, so forget my question about battery disconnection i should have read my manual first.

I tried to pull the bezel straight off and unless it takes a mighty force it must be clipped in or something ?. It wasnt pulling off and i had to stop incase it broke. It was bending at the bottom front where the steering column comes through to the point where it would snap if i kept going.

Any ideas ?.

Im going to buy a DVD but here in the UK i cant get one from a dealer so it will take a few days for that to arrive and i had hoped to do this ASAP.

Thanks
