My third light on trunk has the red lens broke at the top. It looks like you cannot just buy the red plastic lens. MB wants $360.00 for the unit.

I might also need a vario top motor. Any thoughts on where I could get the best pricing on above two items.

Ebay for the Third Brake light, I paid $204 for mine, cheapest I'd seen them.

Not sure on the motor, hopefully others will chime in.

Parts wanted $250.00 shipping on a $1,280 part. Talk about a rip off. Bought from my indie for list price. Arrives to or row. Pump was bad. Kept blowing the 40 amp fuse behind the pass seat.

 

The third brake light is under a MB recall I think. Have your local stealer check your VIN for eligibility. I got mine fixed for free about 6 months ago on a 2003 SL500. It seems to be a chronic problem.

Had the vehicle in for regular maintenance and it was fixed for free. Stealer said it was under recall. Didn't question him as I am not in the habit of looking a gift horse in the mouth.

 

+1 on this. This is the first place I go, when I need parts. Hell, even my friend, who is an MB tech, purchases his parts there. It's cheaper than his price at his own dealership.
