Scuffs on designo magno cashmere white matte finish paint
I have a few light scuffs on my designo magno cashmere white matte finish paint. On a normal paint finish, I would polish them out. I can't do that on a matte finish. Do any of you matte experts have any suggestions?

From MB's guide to Magno paint care:
Damage can only be repaired by reapplying Matte Clearcoat
Blending and spot repairs generally result in unacceptable appearance, so Matte Clearcoat must be applied edge-to-edge on the affected panel(s)
I too have the magno cashmere white matte finish paint. I recently got several scuffs where some bozo scraped by my rear quarter panel while pulling out of a parallel parking spot. I do believe you and I are SOL unless we have the panels repainted.

Scuffs on designo Magno cashmere white matte finish paint
@jbattan: thanks for your reply. I figured as much, having read the statement from MB that you quoted. At least my scuffs are faint and evident only on close inspection. I sympathize with your situation. It sounds as if your paintwork is "scraped" rather than "scuffed." I'm not sure I believe the posting from the member who claimed that the designo Magno matte finish is "bullet-proof."

No paint is bullet proof, I do feel your pain about the bozo scrapping your rear quarter. Happened to me years ago on a Corvette I had custom painted. I parked at least 20 spaces from anyone and this idiot pulls next to me, opens his door into mine.

Scrapes, scuffs and dings
I grew up in Australia, where I don't remember ever seeing door dings. This may not still be the case (I left Australia 40 years ago), but at the time Australians seemed to respect the integrity of their cars more. Perhaps this was a function of the relatively greater expense of cars in Australia, as there was a 100% duty on imported cars at the time.

I sat in a Boston restaurant along a busy street once and over the two hours watched several cars come parallel park by backing in until (slowly, at least) hitting the car in back, going forward until hitting the car in front of them, etc. I cringed.

Yeah, it's called "Parking by ear."
