Trunk closed and locked b4 i attached power and actuator rod!!!

i was repairing my trunk actuator on my 04 sl500 , all was going well until reinstalling when i broke the power wire connector( large clip ) .
i had yet to attach the rod onto the ball and by accident closed the trunk. Now i have no power to the electric release and cant open with the key .
does anyone know of a way to manually lower hardtop ?
or is there a way to get into the trunk from the interior so i could get to the trunk lock and pop it open?
please help!!!!!!
thanks for the anticipated response!!!!!

If the power actuator wire is not attached, and the mechanical rod from the handle is not attached, you're SOL. I am not sure what I'd do in this case, but several parts are going to be sacrificed. Definitely the latch will be one of them. I think you may also end up trashing the plastic panel (where the tag is placed) on the trunk lid, too.

Is there a way to remove interior panels to access inside of trunk? Or if i could somehow by pass the luggage cover safety mechanism then i could put the top partially down while lifting the trunk lid from the opposite side , ??????

The fuel tank sits between the cockpit and trunk, so you're not going to get in that way. If the roof is up, you might be able to somehow fish a wire into the trunk and move the partition into the locked position via the hinge area. A boroscope or similar camera might make that easier.

Ryan,
There is a way to lower the roof in your situation, you will need to access the roof control module which is underneath the rear fuse box.
The rear fusebox is in (under) the storage compartment behind the right hand seat.
Can you access that?
If so I can give you details of the roof opening procedure.

If you are willing to sacrifice your third brake light, you can pry off the lense to gain access to the lock mechanism. I believe that you'd then have to use long forceps to fish around and grab the wire so you can apply power to it, but let one of the Techs here confirm if that's necessary. Here is a video of the procedure.
