Unhappy Got spanked 0 to 60 By A Ford Edge!!!

I think I am ready to sell my SL....At a light stop yesterday with a new Ford Edge Titanium model at my side...It was a 2 lanes merging to 1 lane ahead about 600 feet ahead...He was ready and jumped me off the line, but he was pulling on me and almost ran me off the road at the merge! Are you kidding me? I thought...Wishing I had my 435 HP Jaguar instead...I am thinking this bad *** looking car got spanked by a small SUV...The car looks the part, but doesn't have the power to back it up...Wish I bought an SL555...That guy must have been in his glory...ughhh...

Yeah, the power of an SL500 is no more than a modern V6, and they are neither light nor geared well for drag racing. Not surprised at the outcome, especially if he got the jump on you.

Going on ebay tomorrow....That and working on a 50K mile car seven days a week...I have had it with this POS...My Jag is 10 times more dependable than this ****box...

Car && Driver's test of a 2017 Ford Edge Titanium gave it a 0-60 in 7.6 seconds. The SL500 is listed at 6.1. The Edge has a turbo I4 engine, so if you were accelerating form a rolling stop and the turbo was spooled up, it might give you a good run, but otherwise, the SL500 should win unless it's impaired.

....and sometimes who's driving can make a distinct difference 😉

the quoted 6.1 sec's is optimistic by about a second I reckon
They must have tested down hill and down wind at the time they did those runs .

But remember, when all the tire smoke and brake dust settles, you'll still be cruising in a real nice car and the other guy will still be in a Ford Edge.

Yup. The 500 can have its work cut out by a modern V6 camaro, challenger, or mustang. The 550 on the other hand can still play well against many modern offerings.
